It's very simple. Anybody who knows anything knows that Spence and Crawford are the two top welterweights. If Spence and Crawford want to prove they are #1, they need to fight each other.

It's simply the best fight in boxing. What a shame if we can't even get that. Only sport where we don't get the best vs best every year. People should be trying to encourage and demand this fight to happen soon, not the other way around. Of course it isn't simple. but that's also the issue I have with Arum in this case. Making the phone call to Haymon is perfectly reasonable and a good first step. But dude is already planting the seed of who will be the one to blame when it doesn't happen....And he hasn't even made the phone call yet lol.

Robert is full of ****. Haymon has never blocked. Anybody that has dealt with him will tell you that all Al does is get the fighter the most money possible after they choose each other. 🥊

Yeah, the most money possible for keeping the fights in house. Rarely do Haymon fighters fight non-Haymon fighters. This is the same for all promoters, they would rather make money off both combatants instead of just one. If you don't understand or acknowledge this, you are just bias in Haymon's favor.

In theory, This fight shouldn't be hard to make now that Disney owns Fox and ESPN.

Disney doesn't own the sports channels. Fox wanted to focus on News, sports, and the like. They sold their arsenal of movie libraries, production studios, licensed characters, and a ton of their owned affiliate TV stations to Disney, so Fox Sports now has deep pockets to keep their combat sports contracts fat. So, actually Disney may have just paid a few billion to make this fight even harder to make and harder for them and Top Rank to outbid PBC for talent.

However, I still think this fight happens. I know Crawford looks like he made a silly deal that froze him out of the big name fights, but I repeat a point I have made a few times: The guy could have stayed at 140 and been the unified champ for the same Top Rank money. He moved up to 147. It couldn't be just to fight heavier scrubs than at 140.
