Saying “I’m only going after belt holders” is like a offensive holding penalty in football. It can be used at anytime at a fighters discretion to avoid certain fighters, just like it can be used in football to control the game since there’s literally holding on every down. Ggg used this same excuse to line up Can after Can.
Fact is, the Bobfather is controlling the show, and I doubt he feels it to be a smart business move to pin two of his top fighters against each other as it’s bad for business because someone would be diminished. But ultimately u have to blame the fighters because if they’re not speaking out against their promoters control mechanisms, (if that’s the case)
then it solely falls on the fighter.
