Yes, because if you didn't fight the final eliminator, what did he expect the WBC to do? Move him in front of the #1 contender just because?

Final Eliminator was already done. WBC wasn't going to null and void it because it already happened. So the only option was for the second mandatory option.

No way is Dillian scared of Ortiz. He asked Hearn to fight him back when Ortiz was signed to Matchroom, but Hearn knocked him back and matched Ortiz with Dave Allen instead.

I hope they get it on this year, before Ortiz is too old, if he isn't already. It would be a great fight, but unfortunately, Ortiz doesn't sell well with fans on either side of the Atlantic, so I don't think it will happen unless the WBC order it.
Unfortunately Suleiman's word means absolutely nothing. Even if WBC orders Whyte vs Ortiz they can change their mind and a month later say it wasn't a mandatory position fight. They did that in the past, didn't they? Somebody needs to take them to the court.

The fight was ordered as a second mandatory, stop lying ? That's all you do on here , all that was after the declining of offers as a way to get the fight made .

I hope the WBC orders it. Then when Shyte still doesn't fight him maybe you will finally admit that you were wrong.

          Although I doubt you will.

They won't listen. They can't even post any type of articles showing that Ortiz passed up on fighting Whyte.

As a matter of fact, Whyte was and still is the WBC No1 contender, not Breazeale.

And even if he'd beaten Ortiz last year, it would have been years before Whyte got his "second mandatory" shot at Wilder!

Wilder is only fighting his present mando this year because the WBC were left with no alternative but to order it after the wilder/Fury rematch fell through.

Breazeale fought an eliminator against Molina. Whyte decided against doing a final eliminator. When it's all said and done he did it to himself.

Whyte has never been offered a WBC final eliminator. He was nominated to fight Ortiz for the "second mandatory" position last year, which is a different thing altogether.

Before that Hearn tried to make a Whyte/Breazeale match, but Breazeale turned it down because of the money and ended up fighting Molina instead.

It was only after Breazeale vs Molina was finalised that Hearn was told by the WBC that they were legally obliged to make Breazeale's next fight a final eliminator, which pissed Eddie off, because if he'd known that beforehand he would have offered Breazeale more money to fight Dillian.

He was already number 1 and the wbc silver champion.

It’s difficult to lose your spot in the queue when you’re already number 1. You’re honestly telling me you don’t understand why a man who is already number 1 would decline fighting for the secondary mandatory position given the fact wilder doesn’t make mandatory defences often. Why wouldn’t he take a higher paying fight instead.
