You speak of Canelo as if he takes alot of punishment. Canelo's defense is superb Top 5 P4P. Jacobs eye was near shut beat up vs GGG in 24 rounds Canelo's face was clean in comparison.

I like Canelo taking this fight, as long as it's on the up and up. No matter the pre weight, I think Canelo will have the harder time making 160. No mystery meat, no drama at the scales, none of that stuff.

I hear ya, wear and tear takes a lot from fighters. People like Canelo and Loma are like 80 years old in boxing terms. Veterans of boxing. They are still serviceable for another 2 to 3 years max, tho.

Gotta respect a fighter like Canelo who actually is a student of the game and hones his craft!

You can see it in how he approaches each adverse situation!

With Floyd he tries to come forward more an be first especially to the body!

With Lara he just primarily cut off the ring by applying pressure with constant body shots!

With Trout he just dialed down on his head movement and be more economic with his shots that are power!

With ggg he boxed first time around an used the ring with footwork off the ropes and he came forward an walked down applying body shots and combos to the head in the rematch!

Gonna be interesting how he adjusts to Jacobs speed, reach and explosive power!

Picking Jacobs by KO but you gotta give it to a guy who’s fought the best in his era and continues to do so!

              Can’t wait for the fight!

There are a couple of asterisks with Canelo vis-a-vis the PED thing and how some questionable judging makes his record better than it should be, but in my mind even if there were a L or two more in the past, it wouldn't diminish his achievements. Other than Mayweather, he's matched or bettered a long list of quality opponents and has earned his spot on most P4P lists and HOF credentials already.

Got to also give credit that he's dedicated his energies to his ringcraft instead of creating headlines in nightclubs (such a long list of guilty there...) and the results show.

this is the number one thing i respect about canelo; he actually learns/genuinely tries to learn from his mistakes. He has made continuous improvements and that's to be commended.
