Actually Canelo moved up and got beaten then was awarded a do-over due to the money he makes. At 28 Golovkin was being ducked, specifically, at that time, by Felix Sturm and Mundine.
Ward retired due to his knee. Won't stop people from using his name, or him from acting like he could come back, but he's admitted he's done and if he tried to come back he'd be sued because he already filed a claim on the knee issue causing retirement.
