Comments Thread For: Gallagher Confident Crolla Will Make it a Fight With Lomachenko

Veteran trainer Joe Gallagher is confident that former world champion Anthony Crolla will not disgrace himself when he steps in the ring with WBA, WBO Vasiliy Lomachenko. This Friday night, at Staples Center in Los Angeles, Crolla attempt to pull off one of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport.

“Confident he’ll make it a fight” aka “knows he’s gonna lose”

I think Crolla is set to shock the world on Friday.

Get mean Anthony. Win, lose, or draw, do some damage. Inside, don't let him out, without grabbing his arm. Outside, try and grab his arm.

Has anyone ever tried to foul their way through a Loma fight?

I’m thinking Warrington style vs Selby or Whyte style vs Parker even a bit of Dubois vs Cojanu. A nice mix of rabbit, headbutt, low, rabbit, headbutt, low

Crolla may surprise Lomo for a while until a deadly body shot ends the fight.....but good luck Crolla we're rooting for you.

Yes, Orlando Salido throughout Vasiliy Lomachenko's second professional career bout, refereed by Laurence Cole.

Loma couldn't deal with this? Looks like Loma was backing up, instead of dictating. Salido gassed late, he had 50+ fights, that's why Loma picked him.

Noone expects Loma to lose this, but I wonder if he isn't up for it such that Crolla ends up looking better than expected.

Loma is one of the few boxers that does mental exercises as part of his training. With Linares he took the fight to a pace where Linares folded through mental exhaustion - Loma can do that to an opponent, he basically takes the speed to a fast-forward level and it becomes mental. But Loma also showed signs of mental tiredness in that fight - eg when Linares caught him with a 3 punch combo at one point - almost unthinkable pre-Linares. But I give Linares credit for that, being able to hang with him so long at that pace.

Pedraza he didn't get out of 2nd gear and didn't put the mental pressure on, so Pedraza had a relatively easy night. Was it taking it easy for the shoulder ? Or does Loma have an issue turning it on if he doesn't feel the other guy should be in the ring with him ?

                    Crolla might go 12.
