Teofimo I don't want to be harsh, but it looks like you're already making excuses for why the fight can't happen. "I will be at 140 next year" "I'm giving Lomachenko ultimatums"...that fight only happens THIS year if you can grab a belt in 2019. Lomachenko is not going to decline fights with Champions for his goal to become Undisputed in order to fight you, a prospect with a big mouth but no belt. Champions first, so grab a belt if you really want it or stay at 135 for another year.Comment

I just think he should skip Loma and move up. By March 2020, making weight would affect his ability to go 12 hard, fast rounds, and that's where Loma would take him.Make it happen! Late 2019 would be perfect, sometime in December or around that time. I mean that mean that Lopez would need a step up fight next, but I don't see why that can't happen. He is a HUGE LW and will fill out nicely at 140 and 147, so this fight needs to happen soon.
I don't buy that he won't wait until March of 2020 though. I think he will quickly change his tune if that fight gets offered for that date. Will suck it up at make 135 one final time to get his hands on Lomachenko.
We don't know where his psyche is yet either. He's always walked into the ring and been able to look good - what happens if Loma puts him through a couple of rounds where he looks bad ? How would he react ? A more experienced fighter would know it was nose to the grindstone, listen to the corner, adapt, adjust - he's never known adversity yet.
Anything is possible - he could win and look good doing it for example, but the possibility also exists that Loma exploits his inexperience and clowns him, leaving Lopez and his corner the choice of continued humiliation through to the end of 12, else quitting him out.
I'd rather see Lopez avoid that possibility and be developed for a year or so more before going for the likes of Ramirez at 140, who is good, but he's not Loma.

Mike Tyson didn't make the U.S. Olympic team either!good job of him making into Olympics. got his ass handed to him in the very first round, that's competition to you buddy.
same thing will happen in pros. barely legal to buy beer and he says he gave them "them" entire year to man up and accept the fight. BHA
story of my life, waiting for Teo to man or shut up.
Garcia tricked you all and didn't even try to win a single round, because of $. Went out of shape, chubby into the fight, promoting silly pills and powder. all because of $.
Now what would this fella do if he gets an opportunity against Loma asap?
doe loma is ducking, look at his competition, red commie scared af. small, olympic medals dont mean **** etc, belts aint ****,.. experts really heat this place upComment

That's leaving a lot of money on the table! That's what Crawford did, by not fighting Pacquiao! Now he's practically begging for fights! Lopez has to try to get the fight in 2019! However, if no Loma, he definitely has to move up! I say, if no Pedraza, Campbell, or Loma next, he might as well move up! Ray Beltran?I just think he should skip Loma and move up. By March 2020, making weight would affect his ability to go 12 hard, fast rounds, and that's where Loma would take him.

If TR is willing to make Loma vs Teofimo "sometime after the Super Bowl" legitimately as a recent article here claimed iirc I think Teofimo is being silly at making it 2019 only if thats the case.
Now if TR means "sometime after the Super Bowl" as in late Feb. or Mar. or "sometime after the Super Bowl" July or Sept. is a question Teofimo & his team should be figuring out behind the scenes cuz a Loma fight is putting him on the map win or lose & if he wins he's an insta-player in boxing & arguably a top 10 guy.Comment
