    John Duddy

Anyone else think he is entering the overprotected lable. He stepped up a little in his last fight but he has had 17 fights I think its about time he fought somebody who can give him a challange. Jeff lacy was a world champ by his 17th fight I think to put it in perspective.

Yeah and look what happened to Jeff when he truly stepped up.
Duddy is a potential BIG money maker, and the division isnt easy right now.
Take it easy, take it slow and take it smart.
      Thats the best way.
      He is a young kid.

yeah thats just it, middleweight is a stacked division. It is a job the end of the day and if I was Duddy I'd be happy knocking out bums for a while yet.

There are big fights out there for him not a world level, there is Matthew Macklin that could be like an all-ireland middleweight boxing clash, imagine how many tickets that'd shift in new york. Macklin has a decent record and isnt half bad himself.

very good points however I think that he is fighting under where he should be. his last oppenent has fought a lot of top guys but got wooped if he can continue say his next four fight agienst guys of that quality maybe a little better and then take on an actuall lower contender with a name that would be a good pace for him and do alot for his skills.

Lacy did beat some name fighters and made defences of his title. Iam not saying duddy needs to take on a world beater just he needs to be challanged more. I I think he can win tougher fights. I totally understand not hurring him from a money stand point the kid is making bank and so is everyone connected to him.

hes the biggest attraction to irish american boxing fans. he's like a money tree for his handlers and promoters. why should they risk him in a big fight just yet when hes making them so much money?

I wonder if knowing and growing up with young irish lads if he may be chafing a little bit in the rains if ya know what I mean.

i love irishmen who can punch and duddy is certainly one of them.

however, he's pretty limited in the other aspects of his game. duddy is all offense and so far nobody has really thrown much back at him. he has an awfully long way to go in my humble opinion. he's nowhere close to the ability of even middle of the pack contenders at this point.
