Let's gets the Lopez fight in between.
Commey Doesnt want to fight Loma next.

I wouldn't write in that Lomachenko fight, tbh; Mikey Garcia is set to meet with the WBC next week, and a return to 135lbs puts him and Commey on basically the same timeline (both fighting again June/July).According to lou they first want a tune up fight in June.
💪 Richard Commey is now back in training after suffering a hand injury which prevented him from fighting Vasyl Lomachenko on April 12th. The IBF lightweight champion's promoter Lou DiBella says they're targeting a June/July defence, then the Loma unification. [@ESPN]

Commey on a recent interview in his country also said he doesn't want his first title defense to be Loma someone who is regraded as the p4p because of the hand injury.
This sucks another missed chance to unify. idk who Loma could fight next. Loma came off a worse injury and went for a title but hope his next opponent is better.
This is all based on Mikey going back to 135, but if he does, Lomachenko may as well get ready to fight Teofimio LopezComment

Dudes... y'know... get bigger between the ages of 19 and 30 odd. I Will never get guys talking as if Floyd or Pac could have stayed at 130 or 122 or whatever if they had chosen and only moved up to take on challenges. Yes they deserve credit for beating some great guys, but they don't get extra brownie points just for maturing physically in my book.Loma's opposition has been very underwhelming.
Yes he's "unifying and fighting mandatories" but where are the big fights? Someone who is #1 p4p needs to try to get the biggest names out there at whatever weight class.
Mayweather started at 130 and went up how many weight classes chasing the biggest fights possible?
When you are given that ranking as #1 p4p, you need to move up and down in the classes and challenge the best guys and biggest names, period. No excuses.
Commey isn't even that great of a fighter tbh, especially when you are the #1 p4p in the world.
When fighters start the pro game in their teens they're always gonna move up a few divisions as they mature. Fair play to Floyd he was willing to fight above his natural full grown size as a smallish WW for select elite fights, but then if there was an ODLH hovering at 140 Loma probably would too.
The point is well made though that Loma really needs to take on someone regarded as a challenge.Comment

Mayweather never weighed more then 153 on a fight night and fought at 154 pounds. He went after and chased the biggest names in the sport and fought them, no matter what weight class they were in.Dudes... y'know... get bigger between the ages of 19 and 30 odd. Mikey Garcia just went up to 147 to fight Errol Spence Jr. and he started at 126lbs. That's someone who is daring to be great. That is what Lomachenko needs to do. Loma should at least be able to fight a big name fighter at 140, or meet a Welterweight at a cw. If not, there are names at 130, he should move down and fight them.Comment

Lopez will be at the Crolla mismatch. Why not make that fight next for Lomachenko since Commey won't be available?
Teofimo won't be able to make 135 lbs for much longer. Waiting another year all but guarantees we won't get to see this fight.Comment

Teo isn't ready yet. He needs one or two more fights. Give the kid some time, he's only 21.Comment
