Notre Dame women's basketball coach Muffet McGraw wasn't the only prominent sports figure that spoke out against gender inequality Thursday. On the same day McGraw made an impassioned plea during an interview prior to the women's Final Four, Claressa Shields expressed her own views on the topic while she was interviewed as part of a media workout in Miami. Shields, the IBF/WBC/WBO women's middleweight champion, is finishing up training camp there for her 10-round, 160-pound title unification fight against Germany's Christina Hammer on April 13 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Most likely. She was one of the best female amateur boxers ever. If you win two gold medals people have to pay attention to you. But women boxing is a little like the WNBA, most people don't care.

He's already a male, a male feminist. However I do agree with him, the mandatory watching of female boxing matches should be enforced upon all of us boxing fans. Making sure at least 50% of our time spent on watching fights should be spent on female boxing matches. Oh just how sexist we are...

There’s something very low class and unlikeable about shields. I’m just not a fan. She tries too hard to act like a male thug and it’s a total turn off. She’s just trying too hard to act like a Mayweather or Broner. Maybe that’s just how she was raised but I’m not a fan of it. In any case hammer is better and I’m going to enjoy seeing hammer win

Yep. Women's basketball is literally the most boring thing in the history of television to watch. It's just flat out horrible.

Women's boxing is very bad too.

You hit the nail on the head. If she acted more woman-like and smiled she'd probably do extremely well with branding.

This girl is annoying as fuck, She typifies the typical American with chips on the shoulders. Who thinks just because they are Americans they are world class.

You only had 8 fights so no, no one would have rate you the best. In the men category you would just be one of the rest.
