Comments Thread For: Frampton Jabs Leo Santa Cruz: That F***er Won't Fight Me!

Former two division world champion Carl Frampton is still itching for a trilogy fight with Leo Santa Cruz, who holds the WBA featherweight crown. But Frampton complains that Santa Cruz refuses to meet him for a third time. Frampton handed Santa Cruz the first loss of his career with a close majority twelve round decision back in 2016 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Seems like Carl got the memo that if he signs with another promoter like Top Rank he isn't going to be fighting any PBC guys. Wonder if Crawford got that same memo

I think he is now. Or at least he overrates himself. When was the last time Frampton dazzled us? Maybe the first LSC fight but he's not looked so hot since then. It's a shame because he was (for me at least) a must watch fighter at one point but I could now miss a Framps fight and not be that bothered. He's lost something.

Cruz landed the more meaningful and power shots in the first fight. Remember Cavalleri had it a DRAW. It was a great swing round bout..

Cruz in the rematch made sure no doubt came across.

The Trilogy would make sense. Frampton took a lot of damage against Warrington. Cruz hurts him easier the 3rd outing.

It's funny, Framton gave Santa Cruz a rematch but Santa Cruz refused to give Framton a rematch.

Santa Cruz refuses to fight Gary Russell, Rey Vargas and Framton! Duck, duck, goose!

I think Framps has to do something to get that fight i.e put on a good show vs a named opponent.
I can understand why LSC is looking beyond Carl - who needs to regain the Eye of the Tiger which he seems to have lost somewhere along the line in recent fights.
