And this thread is another example of how far women's boxing still has to go to be taken seriously. A unification fight between two world champions and the discussion is about who is prettier.

Having recently taken an interest in women's boxing, I do feel that Shields is precisely what will NOT progress the cause of women's boxing with her boastfulness and ignorant comments. On the other hand, Taylor is doing exactly what is going to progress women's boxing, being humble and being a kickass boxer.

I don't know much about Hammer but if she has the skill that her record suggests, she will box the socks of Shields who to now seems to have been getting away with superior physical attributes and fitness, not boxing skill or ability. To me, Shields is the Eubank Jr of female boxing.
