They didn't use them and they can't prove Maidana tampered with them. So he got away with it. Someone that gets caught trying to wear dodgy gloves shouldn't have the right to choose another pair.

Fkk, in the 80's, 6 oz gloves for flyweights were still being used. They were freaking tiny.
The 8 oz Reyes or Seyer gloves were still freaking tiny.
Look at the old videos of Leonard and Hearns I.

There were other brands that were freaking tiny too . Winner from South Korea. Winning from Japan before they went with more foam.
Flores gloves were ALL HORSE/HOG hair mix. They made distinct sound when making solid contact.
