How was Bernard Hopkins able to get down to 160lbs

I've seen him in person and it's mind boggling how he was able to make 160 consistently. The dude is tall at 6'1 and has a big frame, so what gives?

Freak of nature. Crazy diet and lived like a damn monk. No partying, no drinking, no bad habbits and ridicilous discipline. His longevity will never be touch.

Because he is a middleweight. Muscle weighs a lot but frame is just bones and weighs very little. Hopkins made weight the same way every fighter makes weight, He gets rid of the fat. he weighed in at 156 for his fight with Oscor There are many middleweights much taller than Hopkins and many welterweights are taller too..

I'm 6 ft 2 without shoes, and I'd be able to make 160 easy, while being very fit and I'm NOT young. Let's just say I'm older than most on this site. Many times throughout my life I've bulked up intentionally by eating like a pig, while bodybuilding/ lifting weights. The highest I've ever weighed is 196 lbs...and that was really difficult to achieve for me. I had gained quite a bit of muscle but I also carried a fair amount of fat. For the last 2 years I've maintained a weight of between 172 to 184 by eating a good amount of calories and weightlifting. I could easily drop from 180 to 160 in 2 months if I chose to eat how I prefer to eat (Not force feeding myself). At 160 I'm lean and ripped...At 180 I carry a bit of fat but I still look slim and trim, long and lean. Everyone has different genetics and some people just can't put the plate down or they need to eat crappy junk food all the time. Losing weight and fat is the easiest thing in the world....Gaining muscle is 10 times harder.

Bernard Hopkins is crazy disciplined. He never light a ciged, he counts his calories on his meals, he never parties and lived like a monk with nothing to stress up the body with.

He said, he onced touched Soda like coca cola and never wanted to drink it ever again because it tasted like "liquid crack" which means addicting and could disrupt his diet regime.

You are genetically wired to look lean so obviously losing weight for you would be easy.

There are however people who are genetically wired to be fat and obese so for them losing just a few pounds is incredibly difficult.

People just aren't the same man.

I mean look at a guy like Robert Easter and a guy like Errol Spence.

Errol Spence is 5'9 but everyone talking about how Spence won't be able to make welterweight for long but on the other hand no one is talking about Easter moving up when he is 5'11 and has a longer reach than Spence.

People don't have the same body frame nor the same metabolism or genes.
