            Joe Cortez was a great person IMO. Once one the best referees in the game. In time he lost that distinction as all referees do but his time at the top was HOF level.

            Admittedly, I am slightly biased as I met him as a young fan and he opened up a whole world of boxing fans do not generally get to see.

                        Some Brits still in disbelief "feather fisted" Floyd dominated Hatton so thoroughly. The ref must have had something to do with it.
