DiBella looking at Fernando Vargas vs. Jermain Taylor

Promoter Lou DiBella is keen on pitting Jermain Taylor against Sergio Mora. However DiBella will also be watching Shane Mosley vs. Fernado Vargas this weekend. DiBella tells the Arkansas ********-Gazette, that if Mora loses his upcoming tune-up fight against Eric Regan on August 25th, and if Vargas wins against Mosley this weekend, then DiBella would be interested in Taylor vs Vargas.

Dibella quoted by the Arkansa ********-****tte, said: “It’s boxing, anything can happen. I’m banking on the fact that Mora’s good enough to win this [Aug. 25 ] fight. But if not, then we’ll take a look at Vargas, who may beat Mosley. If
Vargas wins [and Mora loses ], that’s a real possibility for our next fight.

DiBella added: “ At the very least, [Taylor ] will fight in December. If Mora and Vargas are unavailable, and there aren’t any big-name fights that present themselves, then he will fight in Arkansas in December.”

Taylor wipes the floor with Vargas. Vargas has no head movement after the 3rd round. Taylors jab will snap vargas' head back all night long. I think Vargas is damaged goods, we'll know for sure after this weekend...........

Taylor by TKO in the 8th over Vargas........

i think vargas is a better puncher than taylor. But i think taylors jab will be the difference in another contraversial MD

I dont think this is an easy fight for Taylor. Vargas at 160 will be even better. I'd like to see this fight after he puts the beatdown on Shane this weekend.

Vargas can't beat Taylor. Very bad matchup for el Feroz

Taylor is too big for Vargas and punches a lot harder, too. It'll be exciting though, and like someone else mentioned I rather watch that than Taylor vs Mora.

Weren't people saying the same thing about Hatton when he moved up to 147? "Oh, he'll be even better + stronger, etc."
