At some point he had to stop being a punk and move on with his life. Now they're chasing him.

Only issue is that they want both fights on DAZN. That's gonna cost them 50/50.

I'm sure he'd take 60/40 on Showtime PPV though.
quite a time to take a stand, don't you think? in the face of 120mil and a fight/rematch with the guy he's been chasing.

If Fury doesn't want to rematch Wilder and Wilder wants 50% from AJ and AJ keeps sending low ball offers then the best fans can hope for is that the belts change hands with a few upsets lol haha Sort of like pressing the reset button on the Heavyweight Division and starting over. It seems like all three guys are now in a good spot financially and don't have to take risky fights anymore which is bad for boxing fans smh
          g

How can a potential 120m and a chance at 4 belts be low ball offer? Are you mentally ok????

I'd say eddie did reconsider Wilder's worth, going from $12.5 mil for a fight to $40 mil (via DAZN - I forget eddie's offer ($20 mil?) in-between, but it was a lot more than 12.5). I think an aknowledgement of worth is in there ... maybe you just don't understand.

              • I'm from the south and I've watched Wilder and have been a fan for years and the knock on him locally was he was knocking out tomato cans for his early career but he has stepped up starting with Ortiz. After the 50 million offer I thought surely Joshua was ducking but then he turned down the reported 100-120 million. Maybe this is some Floyd/Mannie posturing or something but it is hard to root for anyone turning down those type of numbers. As a fan I wont be ordering anymore noncompetitive ppvs so I plan to sit out until all the divas stop ducking each other.

Hearn has said that AJ is a free agent in the US and will fight Wilder on Showtime if they offer him more money for it than DAZN.

Wilder is supposed to be a free agent too. "loyalty doe"

What a pile of horseshit that is.

Let's see what happens if Wilder gets past Breazeale, which isn't guaranteed, given how awful Wilder looked in his last 2 fights.
I openly admit to being confused as fook as to how Hearn and DAZN work together (and it keeps changing the more I read....), but as far as I can tell, Hearn has a 1 billion contract with DAZN and has to deliver X cards a year, to include 4 'monster cards' (very subjective what that means of course....).

So where does that billion go ? Is it in Hearn's sticky hands to dole as as needed to deliver the cards that he's contracted to provide to DAZN ? If DAZN does a deal with Wilder, then presumably money gets paid by DAZN to Wilder's team and all Hearn has to do to meet his contractual requirements is to pay his top guy (Joshua) out of the billion to show up ? In which case, given Wilder isn't to know what Hearn pays Joshua to show up to the fight (and no reason Hearn needs to disclose that), why does Wilder care ?

Count me in as clueless how this actually works.

That's what is so fckn off about Wilder using AJ's money as an excuse for turning down an offer from DAZN. He specifically said that he didn't want to negotiate or sign any deal with Eddie, and asked for him to be excluded from the meeting.

But Eddie is the guy who handles AJ's business with DAZN!

I really don't know if AJ's cut would come out of the $billion DAZN already allocated to Hearn, or if they were going to pay him a separate one-off fee. But for sure, it would have been paid to Eddie, as AJ's promoter, and it shouldn't be any concern of Wilder or Finkel.

Sure does. Like whoever you want and feel however you want, but the sport supports people with families just trying to make it like us all. Nothing good comes to those wishing critical harm on anyone. Hopefully all fighters will recuperate and be whole at the end of the day.
