Arum: Hearn has Joshua isolated on DAZN
“Joshua is completely isolated because he has in effect, been captured and rolled into this DAZN arrangement. This frankly inhibits his ability to make major fights and his ability to really become a factor. He’s fighting in the US against Miller but it’s on DAZN. Nobody has DAZN.”
The promoter would then take things a step further by saying that Joshua is being taken advantage of and that he needs to ‘wake up’ and join an outfit like his, Top Rank/ESPN, or even PBC — but preferably his.
“I think Joshua has been used. Joshua and his people should wake up and really join the world. He should finish up his contract with Hearn and join us.
“It makes no sense (staying with DAZN). It makes no sense to deprive him of PPV. If he fights in the UK, he can’t turn that into PPV dollars in the United States. That’s because of the difference in time.”

Is this Arum throwing shade, or does he make a valid point? And bring back the Panda every now and then. HOTEP!
While Joshua has fought in the US its been those lower rated afternoon shows due to them taking place in the UK. And I'm not sure I've heard of anyone who's not much of a blip on the US radar, but could be, doing a PPV out of the blue without first being built up by HBO or Showtime or even free TV back in the day.
So I think Joshua is in a bit of a catch 22. DAZN is likely paying him a sh^tload of money, but its hard to grow yourself on a new platform few people have yet & which likely has a tiny casual boxing fan audience still (Canelo should help them with casuals doe). So how do you transition Joshua to PPV when your promoter gots no deals with a place you can get him popular in the US fast to have even bigger money potential then DAZN is paying him now? Obviously Arum is saying come to ESPN lol. But thats not happening. And Hearn seems to have lit the Showtime bridge on fire for good with this DAZN deal.
So its not as good of a situation for Joshua as it could be, but idk how Joshua angles himself into a US PPV draw with the current alliances & overall landscape. And while you can always say some sh^t & I often do about fighters testing their market value via free agency I tend to think with the sketchiness of the boxing game fighters often side with the devil they know theory. Which is understandable I suppose.Last edited by Eff Pandas; 03-28-2019, 02:53 PM.

Dont put in conditions about 2 or 3 pre-fights, and conditions that mean he has to stab his current team in the back and sign with DAZN long term and lose complete control of his career.
And please dont let a ***** Whyte fight get in the way of this. If Wilder receives another offer to fight ***** Whyte before AJ, its crystal clear Eddie doesnt want Wilder vs AJ anytime soon.
Am fed up with these ****** guys in here claiming to be wilder fans.
100mil is no proper offer huh!!!!

And hell since Wilder is “ducking”, offer him a 50/50 split. I mean, he’s ducking, so it’s not like he’s gonna accept the fight anyway. And if he does, he’s supposedly easy work for AJ. So it’s not like AJ is at risk of losing, damaging his future earning potential.
Lolx..... a guy with a protected green belt offered 50%? I have never heard any thing funnier than this, this year
Lolz.......

Remember when I was telling AJ diehards that he avoided Wilder last yr when Wilder did everything to make the fight, because he knew that he would get a free 2 yr excuse to delay the fight because the "mandos doe" excuse became viable? just as hearn snr had said so.
Heres proof AJ fanbois ALWAYS say doesn't exist.

everyone knows Hearn jr doesn't run anything but his nobbuffer & that hes nothing more than a trust fund btch who likes playing dress up in daddies shoes to attract toothless birds using daddies ££££
And Dazns offer came with backstabbing his team-strings attached 4 a multi fight deal,if Hearn was serious hed offer Wilder at least 40% for a 1 fight deal, when in history of boxing does a fighter have to sign a talent binding contract in order to make a undisputed unification? AJ supposedly didn't duck Wilder when he blatantly turned down 50 mil & majority of ppv purse he asked for,but Wilders somehow ducking by not signing a multifight contract thats still a flat fee.

I think only the Lewis vs Tyson & Floyd vs Manny fights are examples where draws were big enough & likely the money was big enough to share to get platforms working together.
I see a few purse bids in Eddie Hearn's future!
I see the merits for testing value & maybe someone will at some point, but human nature is to take the check with the known numbers on it vs rolling the dice on getting a better number.
This is a job at the end of the day for boxers. And its a very dangerous job where you could be severely injured or killed on a bad day or just have your value drastically diminished if you take a embarrassing or one sided loss.
You're already ******** each time you get in the ring who wants to gamble anymore for that big sexy check NEXT fight instead of THIS fight? I'm guessing very few guys.
