Therefore, if Crawford hasn’t done a high PPV himself, I predict Crawford vs Spence does no better than Mikey vs Spence numbers, maybe even lower.

I dont even see it as a big ppv fight, who have either of them beat? I dont get why they are talked like they are two legends of the sport, theyve barely proven anything. Plus theres more personality in a corpse than these two. A few years ago it would have been free to watch , ppv should be reserved for the extra special fights. Haymon didn't push for this fight at all. To him, Spence and Mikey are his best fighters and biggest star potentials aside from Wilder. I mean there is Pacquiao but he's on the way out. I'm sure he would have preferred Mikey not to take this fight and didn't take him serious at all the first time Mikey told him to make this fight. And the second time he told him to make the fight, he asked Mikey if his brother and father were okay with this fight.

Of course Pacquiao would help Spence's name value. But why isn't that fight happening next then? How much of a say does Manny really have on who he fights next if Haymon is going to continue guaranteeing him 20M and paid off his tax bill?

Mikey has a good name and is pretty much in equal terms with Spence in ratings. When they headline, they do the same types of numbers with Spence having the slight edge in that regard. But to just say Mikey contributed to 90% of the PPV sales and majority of attendance is laughable. Basing that off of what exactly? This fight got great promotion from FOX and the shoulder programming clearly helped.
