I don't have a strong opinion one way or the other. I used to think he was guilty because, when it happened, he was SO overwhelmingly condemned by society that I just assumed he was guilty. People who claim there was a lot of sympathy for him are just fools. The guy was thought of as a monster with a simple mind and society just went along with the idea that he was guilty.

But, these days I wonder. He has fessed to a LOT of things and seems to have gone through a process of remorse and openness. But, that's the one thing he still says was false. I don't necessarily believe him but I have an open mind. The evidence is also suspect.
