I mean there's worse **** that folk do, but anyone praising Pulev for that idiocy probably needs to think about how they'd feel if that was their daughter (or more likely their mom in the case of these dudes I'd imagine). Anyone who'd treat it differently (going in either direction) if it was a black dude doing it is racist pure and simple, but I ain't really qualified to speculate on the reaction in the US - ... I'd hope over here the majority reaction would be much the same whether it was a white or a black dude, though I'm sure there'd be some threatened *******s differentiating.

I mean what you're really ultimately asking is whether there's racism in the US, and of course, there is... if fact, if you'll forgive my observation on something in which really is the business of you and your fellow US citizens - it appears to me that systemic US racism is very much part of a deliberate policy of social control... divide and conquer if you will, a balance of fear and resentment carefully fostered over successive decades, not merely the accidental result of brutal historical circumstance.

I love this observation. Your assumption is right as well. It perpetuates something called intergenerational trauma. It's not only in the US, either, it affects many indigenous colonized cultures as well.

You guys who are getting emotionally triggered over this need to take some midol and put in your pad. I never got worked up over this and I was smiling when I made the thread. Don't try to project your butthurt onto me just because the logical answer makes you angry.

Funny thing is, I never even said anything about race. I actually said "Wilder or Fury" when I originally typed it up because I was thinking more along the lines of polarizing figures than race but changed it because I didn't want to turn this into another Wilder vs Fury thread. People immediately locked onto the race thing though. Which is interesting. Not wrong, but interesting.

I first thought about other names, but right now Wilder is the most polarizing and talked about figure in boxing at the moment, and I could see people having a strong reaction to him. If I wanted it to be a race thing, I would have chosen a brother who people don't hate. I would have made it "If Spence grabbed/kissed..."

THAT would be a race baiting thread. I'm not into starting those kinds of fires though. I don't like creating that kind of tension because it's destructive.
