Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia, WBC To Talk This Week Regarding 135 Title Status

As Mikey Garcia continues to mull his next move in the ring, the brass at the World Boxing Council (WBC)-and presumably Luke Campbell as well-patiently await his decision. The reigning lightweight titlist is enjoying downtime following his lopsided 12-round loss to unbeaten welterweight titlist Errol Spence Jr. earlier this month in his bid to claim a major title in his fifth weight division. Garcia moved up two weight divisions for the welterweight title fight from his lightweight title unification win over Robert Easter Jr. last July.

Mikey is a legend for the risk he took, and for exposing Spence as the new Malignaggi of the WW division. He can do as he pleases now.

Everyone wants to see Mikey's next fight. Like I said, he said momentarily dropped his stock. But when his next fight comes at 135 or 140, it'll be all eyes on him and he will likely destroy his next opponent.

Just say he's a legend for taking a beating. quit trying to sugarcoat it. he can't be a legend since he doesn't have his fifth belt and he didn't beat Spence. that was his M.O. and in his mind would make him a legend.

Hope he goes back to 135 & fights Loma. Think the problem is gonna be standard Arum bs doe. Will do that offer him too little for 1 fight vs Loma or will want x options on him along with the Loma fight which I don't see Mikey going for...and after losing 2 yrs of his career on a sketchy TR contract who can blame him for not wanting to sign a multiple fight deal with TR.

Personnally I don't care about that, but you are in the majority with your stance I'm sure & I suspect he probably will get a W vs a decent to good opponent, or two, before he's in another major fight vs a tip top guy.
