“I’m very excited about this new chapter in my career and I’m looking forward to a fresh start,” Pacquiao said in a statement released Monday. “I’m reinvigorated by the prospects of bringing up new fighters under the MP Promotions banner. My team will work closely with Al Haymon for the remainder of my career to deliver the most anticipated fights with the top PBC fighters. It doesn’t look good, the perception is fear just as it was with Crawford. But personally I understand, fights with Thurman and Garcia are appealing and I’d rather see Spence vs the other young welterweights namely Crawford and wouldn’t mind seeing him challenge a jr middle champ as wellComment

You are right about 48 clout chasing. I've always maintained he wouldnt fight Spence. He will go with the same formula that always worked for him. Searching for an opponent who has lost recently or is noteworthy but losing a step. That would could be any of these 3. Porter. No KO power and didnt look too good his last fight. After a long layoff, Thurman himself admitted he isnt all the way healed and almost got KO'd. Danny Garcia has a fight and I think hes coming off 2 losses in a row?
Hope it backfires, would love yet another highlight real KO of #48 to add to the collection.Comment

He is. He wants "his people" to think he's still somehow bulletproof and the same guy from 10 years ago when he's just looking for low maintenance low risk high reward fights. Floyd was upfront and said I'm not looking for prime boxers. Pacquiao won't say it. I don't know if that's clout chasing, but that's something... dishonesty at the very worst.Comment
