Comments Thread For: Julian Williams Not Worried About Going To D.C. For Hurd Fight

Long before plans called for their fight to take place in the defending champion's hometown, Julian J-Rock' Williams knew what he was in for the moment he sought a showdown with unbeaten, unified super welterweight titlist Jarrett Hurd.

Another tough title outing for JRock.
I expect him to give a good account of himself in a losing effort.
    Hurd is a freakish nightmare.

JRock will have to gain Hurd's respect early on or else it is likely he gets mowed down late in the fight like other Hurd opponents. I still love this fight. JRock is a sharpshooter and will definitely be able to win his fair share of rounds. Hurd didn't look great last fight but obviously was coming off the shoulder operation.

      Lean Hurd, 60/40.

I get it Hurd being the favorite, but I'm very curious to see how the fight unfolds.

In an age when the best (or those claiming to be the best), would rather strategically pick and choose to maximize profit while minimizing risk, Hurd and Williams are throwbacks to a tougher era. Everyone gets sickened by the ducking and dodging at WW and HW, but these two guys are steadily and consistently showing everyone how its done, and both should be celebrated for it. Breadman and JRock are true heirs to the Philly tradition, and Hurd is, well... the guy's just a MONSTER.
            Stand up fellas!

Philly to Fairfax, VA is nothing! They going to be in there thick! I thought Harrison was a mistake for Charlo, and I don't think this was a wise move either! Hurd can't survive too many more wars! 50/50 fight in my eyes! Should be a classic! Looking forward to seeing Barrios too! Big guy for 140, just like Hurd is for 154!

My thoughts exactly. He needs to change his fighting style if he wants longevity as a champion. Hurd's body is slowly wearing down, it's just a matter of what fight will be his undoing.

So Hurd fights known and viable fighters such as Lara, Harrison, and now JRock.
Charlo in 3 of his 4 title fights fought Lubin, Trout, and Harrison.
Castano a previously unknown has already stepped up and fought Lara.
And Mungia's run has already been dwarfed by not only those guys but also by Castano who in one fight fought Lara already! They need to stop babying Mungia!

Munguia is also much younger than the rest of the guys you mentioned. Those guys are in their absolute primes. But Munguia will eventually have to step up no doubt.
