I kinda like threads to stay on topic. Its repsectful to the memeber who started the thread. to me its kinda like a regualr conversation you reply to the question and once the questioner is satisfied or frustrated with the feed back then you move on to another topic.

If I remember it right, Joan Guzman was a terror in the 122-lbs. weight class. He challenged the other alphabet soup champs Larios (WBC), Vazquez (IBF) and Monshipour (WBA) to unification fights. They all ignored him. Instead, he ended up fighting a Joe Morales guy at 130 when he can't make the Super Bantamweight weight in a supposed defense against challenger Marcos Licona. He looked crappy in this fight though he was able to KD the journeyman. Guzman would later move up to 126 and challenged WBO champ Scott Harrison, he too turned his back on Joan. He got to fight a game Terdsak Jandaeng, he won the fight but he wasn't impressive. On his 2nd fight at 130, he fought the veteran and former Lightweight champ Javier Jauregi. Joan showed a new fighting style, he boxed more and threw quick 4-5 punch combos, he didn't show any semblance of power, but it was pretty impressive boxing IMO.

Barrios fought his entire career at 130 and he's naturally strong at this weight class. His only real loss was to Freitas whom he traded KDs with. The only way to beat him - must have power to stop him like Popo did; and/or have slick boxing style like a Mayweather Jr. or Raheem to simply outbox him; or an excellent & accurate counterpunching style like a JMMarquez cuz La Hiena is so open after those looping powershots.

A fighter is only as good as his last fight. If Guzman fights Barrios like he did against Jauregi, Joan will be taken out in one of those torrid exchanges when he tries to pepper Jorge with his fancy 4-5 shot combos. If he boxes and avoids getting into a brawl, he'll have more chances of winning by decision.
