Did you see the Agapito Sanchez or Terdsak fights? Guzman is an animal, bro.

Check also out Morales...some bum guy he fought at a higher weight. Guzman didn't look good in that fight.

He fought Terdsak? Is he the guy JMM will be fighting...hhhmmmm? Let me check.

        A pick 'em, indeed.

Guzman has had, at most, only three fights on or around the Jr. Light weight while Barrios started and stayed within the range of Jr. Light to Light all throughout his career. Guzman though is taller and has a slight reach edge.

In one of his very few fights at Jr. Light, Guzman did not look too good in defeating Joe Morales; although he dropped the San Antonio,TX, resident in the third, Morales went the distance. Morales took the fight on one day's notice as a replacement for Marcos Licona who withdrew after having been told at the weigh-in that Guzman's WBO title was not to be put on the line and that the fight was not to be at Featherweight.

Guzman routed Terdsak Jandaeng ( who is slated to face JMM) in White Plains, NY, and even dropped the Thai in the fifth. But Jadaeng, too, got to hear the final bell.

Barrios on the other hand took out Victor Santiago in the second, dropping the Puerto Rican thrice in that round. Santiago was stopped only once previously-- by Scott Harrison, in the 6th.

Effectively, Barrios has lost only once--to Freitas. Barrios' only other smear on his record was a loss by DQ much earlier in his career. He was reportedly punching south too much.

In the Freitas fight, Barrios earned a KD when he hit an off-balance Popo in the 8th. Then, within the 1st minute of the 11th, he dished a left-right combo for another KD. Freitas spat out his mouthpiece. The fight resumed, but as the bell sounded, Freitas returned the favor and dropped Barrios.

With only 10 seconds into the 12th, Freitas dropped Barrios again for the second KD officially declared as such by the ref in favor of Popo. Barrios rose, but then again dropped to one knee a mere seconds later. This time it was not declared a KD, but when Barrios stood up again he was visibly wobbly, prompting referee Jorge Alonzo to end the contest at less than a minute into the final canto.

Thus, while Guzman has a prestine slate, Barrios' record is as close as one can get to being smearless.

        This is one good match!

I really think this is a pick-em fight, too. It's hard for me to pick as both have great power in both hands and great chins. I tend to favor Guzman because he's a bit taller with about an inch more reach than Barrios and we know Barrios is capable of being KO'd since Freitas dropped him twice in the late rounds en route to his TKO victory over Barrios (a fight Barrios was winning until then).

            What do you guys think?

I agree this is going to be an exciting fight. But Guzman dropping Barrios? Nopes it won't happen. Guzman has speed and throws combinations but has no power.

            I'm picking Barrios on this.

Should be entertaining, Ill slightly favor Barrios because of his size and stregnth advantage.

this has "FIGHT OF THE YEAR" written all over it.

i'm taking barrios to win by late round TKO. barrios gets stronger as the fight goes on, plus he's vicious.

although guzman is real good i think that barrios is too much of a mad man in the ring for him to handle........

I CAN'T ****ING WAIT FOR THIS FIGHT, I'M GETTING MY TICKETS ASAP FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Gbp is going to rule boxing because they are willing to match up there fighters tought. You know what I think the fighters really like that as well they get to earn their wins and become real champs in fans eyes because of level of comp. Look at GBP fighter match up. Vargas/Mosly1 and 2 Hopkins/tarver Guzman/Barrios Ouma/karmazin Ouma/powell He is protecting MAB like he will catch the bubonic plague however. Larios vs Pac. Ikiki abraham and many others. Oscar promotes like he fights tough match ups no bull **** just good fights. Oscar is the bright light for boxing wether he fights or not. I think he is one of the very few promoters that gives the fans what they want to see and he makes bank doing it eventhough his fighters sometimes loose.
