That would kill the fight! I also don't believe Canelo will be at 160 after 2020! He's already talking about Kovalev! If no Canelo, I still want him to start his run @ 154 in 2020! Thurman and Porter are dragging their feet! They should be ashamed if Errol fights Pacquiao next!

I would like him to fight Castano @ 154 first, and then Canelo! Might as well b/c Thurman and Porter don't want none!
You're getting ahead of yourself here..... He has to fight Pacquiao at 147 first.

My apologies! Did not intend that! No disrespect to Pacquiao! If Errol can fight Pacquiao @ AT&T Stadium, that MUST happen! However, if it's not, I don't think beating Thurman or Porter is as good as it used to! I would pursue a path to Canelo, and that would start with Brian Carlos Castano @ 154!

I am a little uncomfortable defending Canelo but there were and are a lot of fighters that have went up into higher weight divisions to win titles. And just as a point of order, Canelo won the WBC Super Welterweight belt in 2011, picked up the WBA Super Welterweight belt in 2013, lost both to Floyd Mayweather the same year. But then went on to win the WBC World Middleweight belt in 2015 and won the WBO belt in the World Super Welterweight belt in 2016, and then won the WBC World Middleweight belt again in 2018 along with the IBO World Middleweight belt and WBA World Super Middleweight belt.

Second point of order. Super Middleweight is 168, Middleweight is 160, Junior Middleweight or Super Welterweight is 154, Welterweight is 147. Although Canelo started his career at a Welterweight, his first major belt from the major sanctioning bodies was at Super Welterweight which is 154. Based on his career projector, Canelo won belts starting at 154 and then 160 and then 168. He didn’t jump from Welterweight up 2 or 3 divisions to chase or win belts. He won them in succession starting at Super Welterweight.
