The fighters are giving the power back to their managers/promoters which is not good. There are going to be fights that should have had,but didn't because of these managers getting in the way.The only reason Wilder and Joshua can play silly buggers is because the crop of threatening heavyweights is weak.

So Finkel admitting he's letting it marinate to make more money then.
Wilder says it's not about the money but demands 50/50 and agrees to let it marinate to make more.
Wilder says he didn't sign the contract because there was no venue, but signs Fury fight with no venue.
It's not about the actual dollar amount, which is why Wilder wants 50/50. Considering his last PPV generated the same amount as Joshua's last PPV, 50/50 isn't as ridiculous as you think.
Wilder didn't sign the contract because there was no language guaranteeing the fight would be next. It wasn't about having a finalized venue, it was about Hearn refusing to include language that the fight would be next. In the Fury contract, there was standard language about not taking any interim fights and the timeframe the fight would take place in. All things Hearn refused to put in his contract.Comment

When Fury vacated the opportunity to fight Wilder again initially I thought what a duck but in reality it was a smart move and I can’t begrudge him. If Wilder won whether furyis confident or not with Wilder’s power even though he was getting outboxed it only takes one shot ,where the hell would Fury go next? No lineal title no real willing contenders to face him because he is extremely awkward so I can’t hate on him there.
Wilder has used all these offers for him to demand more money from showtime. It makes sense. He may choose to sign with Dazn for the Joshua fight if they up their money. He doesn’t need to do anything now. Nothing is happening without him.Comment

Once he knocks Aj out in the first fight there will be no rematch(because Aj will be traumatized from the near death experience like Fury was). So what I believe will happen eventually is they'll be forced to negotiate in good faith-Put all terms out on the table for BOTH fighters so Wilder knows he's not getting the short end of the stick.
Wilder is done playing with these clowns. Aj, Barry and Eddie hearn will deal with him on equal terms, hammer out a fair 50/50 deal and that will be that. Just don't know how long we'll have to wait.
Considering Wilder gave me 2 very memorable fights against 2 A-level heavyweights and the other guy gave me no memorable fights against A-level opposition(hasn't even faced an A-level opponent yet)- I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.Comment

So Finkel easily made the Klitschko AJ fight ,,,,
So why didn't he make Klitschko vs Wilder .. given he was the manager of both, had way more time and opportunity to do it ,,, is he claiming he didn't want the fight.
Its not like it was a hard fight to make like a unification with his stable mate Charles Martin .. wait, wait no i say that back ..
Finkel 1 : That Finkel is a snake he doesn't want the fight
Finkel 2 : No , no it's Finkel that doesn't want to make the fight.
Everyone else : Deontay is a baby heavyweight finkel is protecting ..Comment

Don't think Wilder had much to say. Other interests prevailed over Wilder's. Haymon just can't afford 2 weight divisions being locked with DAZN, esp. HW. A lot of PBC fighters think that if Al is black he can't milk them. Your own people usually milk you the most. Why? Cuz you don't expect them to.Comment

Finkel is taking a risk by letting it marinate for further profit, and why is Wilder letting him do it?
I'm sure it was Wilder who was accusing Joshua's team of trying to wait until he was age-damaged; looks like it's his own management team that's risking this happening, and was doing so the whole time while throwing blame the other way.
The only way they wouldn't materialise is if Wilder lost to Breazeale.Comment

"Then he doesn't answer and they say we'll give you a better offer. They up the offer to $12.5m to $15m. They said it would be the next fight and there would be a rematch clause. So we said we accept, send the contract. Then the contract comes and it has no date for the fight, no arena for the fight"
Finkel
There was language about it being the next fight. That was fixed, then the new problem was "no date, no venue". Team wilder never wanted the fight, they just wanted to play like they did and manipulate the public, which they did fairly successfully... until now.Last edited by guyver8; 03-20-2019, 10:54 AM.Comment
