All I see here is people who can't take it that garcia hyped himself up so much yet put on a punching bag performance. The truth is khan crawford will definitely be more entertaining and it's just you casual boxing fans that can't accept it and allow your hate on a fighter to expose you as just a casual hater. Khan isn't hyping himself out like garcia, he's going to go out there and give it his all, why do you guys have a problem with that, isn't that what boxers are supposed to do?Comment

"Amazing how media supports Spence beating [a] blown up lightweight and calling out aging Pac-Man but if Top Tank made Terence Crawford vs Mikey or Manny, we’d be condemned. Crawford’s next challenger Amir Khan would beat Pac or Mikey so media experts, demand Spence vs Crawford," Trampler stated.
Top Rank did want Pacquiao vs. Mikey, and they wanted Pacquiao vs. Crawford, but both Pacquiao and Mikey, (just like Floyd, Oscar, and Cotto before them) left Top Rank! Khan was calling for Pacquiao forever, and Bob blocked it, and gave us Jeff Horn!
Arum is mad because the show was great, the place was packed, and Terence and Lomachenko are watching this, scratching their heads like "Where's my big fight?" Now they might watch another 45-50K pack AT & T Stadium for Spence Jr. vs. Pacquiao!
Sad Bob can't sell Crawford vs. Khan on it's own merits! If you believe Khan has a chance to beat Terence Crawford, you're crazy! He'll look good for a few rounds, and then BOOM! The only reason i'm buying that card is Shakur Stevenson, and Teofimo Lopez!Comment

Of course, it's still a big money fight but Haymon doesn't want Mikey nowhere near the vicinity of Lomachenko. Bob has made it very clear over the last year and a half or so, that it's the fight that he wants and has always wanted but Al is the one who is holding the fight up because he won't come out and play ball with him. The true sticking point is that Arum wants exclusive rights to the fight on ESPN and Haymon won't allow that.
True, but Loma was very green then with no professional experience or seasoning.Comment

You thought Arum was better than that? Clearly you don't know Arum's history in boxing. The biggest snake in the sport.Comment

I concur with your take on the situation my good man."Amazing how media supports Spence beating [a] blown up lightweight and calling out aging Pac-Man but if Top Tank made Terence Crawford vs Mikey or Manny, we’d be condemned. Nothing more gross than debating false narratives. I would almost be willing to bet money that you’re one of the posters who also proclaimed that Ward ducked GGG aren’t u ?lipinets is a bum lol. he's better than gamboa and linares? just silly talk. he has never beaten a top 10 opponent or anyone. struggled to beat a journeyman for his "belt" and just got a dubious decision over some guy named erik bone.
we saw what happen? when did mikey ever try to fight loma? the answer is never. zero offers. zero negotiations. mikey said he would fight him but arum would just kill it aka preemptively ducking and not even trying. you fell for that? arum just said last year he would be willing to do the fight if mikey came calling but mikey picked spence instead. stop making up things.
Don’t make me go back into your “False Narrative” archives and expose u.Last edited by SugarRaRobinson; 03-19-2019, 08:32 AM.Comment

Mikey is free to do what he wants, and so r the rest of Haymon fighters. Y do u think Wilder is in talks with DAZN ?Of course, it's still a big money fight but Haymon doesn't want Mikey nowhere near the vicinity of Lomachenko. Bob has made it very clear over the last year and a half or so, that it's the fight that he wants and has always wanted but Al is the one who is holding the fight up because he won't come out and play ball with him. True, but Loma was very green then with no professional experience or seasoning.
If Wilder signs with DAZN, Al Haymon will still be his advisor, he just won’t fight on Showtime anymore.
Can we for once resist the temptation to turn Haymon into the invisible bully/boogeyman please ?Comment

I don't know why people forget so quickly!
Mikey Garcia could be an opponent for Manny Pacquiao in the near future
January 24, 2014:
Help could be on the way in the name of Mikey Garcia, the ultra-talented super featherweight champion from Oxnard. At 5-foot-7, he can easily move up a couple, perhaps even three more weight classes and still not be considered terribly short. That’s not to mention that Pacquiao, who began as a light flyweight, is only 5-6 1/2.
Garcia, 26, is 33-0 with 28 knockouts and a legitimate top 10 pound-for-pound fighter. Tonight he will defend his title against Juan Carlos Burgos of Mexico at Madison Square Garden in New York City (on HBO). During this promotion, Arum slyly brought up the notion of Garcia moving up far enough to tangle with Pacquiao, currently a small welterweight.
Arum was asked how he sees the future of Garcia unfolding.
“It’s one fight at a time,” he said. “A lot is happening in boxing and it happens really quick. Mikey is one of the few American stars in boxing. We have Mikey and Andre Ward, Floyd Mayweather and Timothy Bradley and there are not many other Americans who qualify as superstars. Mikey is taking on a lot of these non-Americans in really big fights, and where that takes him, I am not sure.
“Does it take him up in weight to 135 or 140, then a fight with Pacquiao?”
Arum continued, but it was kind of like, hold on right there. Is there a fight with Pacquiao in Garcia’s future?
“Mikey will tell you himself,” Arum said. “He was over in Macau when his stablemate, Brandon Rios, fought Pacquiao (in November, selling only 475,000 buys). And he mentioned to some that down the road he would look forward to a fight with Manny Pacquiao. I am a big Mikey Garcia fan and I thought that would be good.”
@RMoralesPTUnless there is a miracle and Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao sign to fight each other, promoter Bob Arum is going to be hard-pressed to continue to give Pacquiao money-making op…
December 1, 2017:
Roach: Arum 'Pushing For' Pacquiao-Crawford; Fight Concerns Me
“Arum wants Pacquiao to fight Crawford,” Roach said. “I’m a little bit concerned about that fight. It’s a tough fight. Crawford’s a young guy, coming up and so forth, and Manny probably has seen his best days behind him. But I will still train him and get him ready for that fight, if that does happen. And they’re pushing for it, so it might. But it’s the same situation there. It’s a different generation. We’ve gotta still compete with the younger generation. And I think Miguel will be able to do that, for sure.”
Despite Pacquiao’s age and declining skills, Roach still thinks he can defeat Crawford, who’s typically considered one of the top two boxers, pound-for-pound, in the world.
“I would never go into a fight not thinking we can win,” Roach said. “So by the time we get ready for that fight, we will be a hundred-percent ready to win.”
NEW YORK – Freddie Roach revealed something significant Thursday while discussing the older fighters he trains facing younger boxers. The Hall-of-Fame trainer was talking about 37-year-old Miguel Cotto boxing 29-year-old Sadam Ali on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden (HBO). But Roach mentioned he might have to get another aged legend ready next year for an even more difficult fight against a younger opponent.Comment
