As soon as I was reviewing each fighters historical compubox I instantly realized Mikey is nowhere near active enough to beat Spence who is unbelievably active on offense for a ww. The thing is at lower weights I see Mikey as almost unbeatable for the same reason,against fighters near his own size its an enormous benefit for him to fight the way he does with excellent accuracy & defense while not wasting energy missing. It just doesn't work when your facing someone much larger who is a devastating body puncher as well as someone who is the most active welter on paper.

It was a big target practice. Mikey to me looked solid like a tank. Spence's punches didn't seem to bother him all that much initially. Spence looked amazing but a little featherfisted.

And the "often facing much bigger fighters" thing is mostly inaccurate as well considering FmJ is a big ww who chose not to rehydrate because of his style,& aside from Canelo who he intentionally drained to 152 despite having the belts at 154 & having faced Cotto/dlh at full 154,FMJ rarely faced anyone who was truly much bigger than him. He was the ultimate salesman who constantly perpetuated fallacies to make himself appear even greater than he was;such as the fallacy that he couldn't have campaigned at 154 if he wanted to.

As far as you mentioning fmj slapping around Roidez & saying the weight played no role,you conveniently leave out that fmj made Marquez jump several divisions in weight with steep penalties if he missed weight,then fmj changed the contracted weight at the last minute despite nsac having made clear thats illegal as fck,but to top it off Mayweather still came in 2 lbs heavy anyways. So as much as I think fmj is an atg,& as much as I cant stand that pos marquez that win has an asterisc & I have plenty of Floyd's own words that say his win against canelo should have a double asterisc beside it.Granted of course fmj would destroy Marquez in any circumstances

What world class fighters were in his weight class that he could've/shoulda faced but didn't? Who below 140 is better than Mikeys resume? It's hilarious that you consider certain fighters elite or even atg's yet your only way to discredit mikey is to say what wc names has he faced. The irony is that Spence himselfs resume isn't as good as Mikeys when how challenging the opponent was is considered let alone when the odds given by bookies are considered.

Apologies if I misconstrued the meaning behind your post. I figured you were just another Floyd hater since there are so many of them.

Yes, he has the Canelo catch-weight thing that makes him look a bit hypocritical, but it was Canelo that offered to make the cut. At 36 yrs old, with Canelo entering his prime, he was looking for a weight advantage since Canelo had an age and strength advantage.

And the JMM fight, if I remember right JMM called him out. He would have been in his rights to not take the fight, and in hindsight shouldn't have.

FMJ no doubt is as much legend as they come but just as every other great fighter in history just like Canelo is now,he has asteriscs in certain fights,but it doesn't change the fact that fmj took the Canelo fight & schooled Canelo(its a bit exagerrated how much imho) when he wouldn't have been faulted for not taking that fight after seeing what nelo did to trout right before at full jmw. Fmj can say he fought almost everyone in his era near his weight & Canelo can do the same in this era now,hes fought almost every name available(the biggest money fights Canelo has faced them just as fmj taught him the A side gets the advantages).

The torch doesn't always have to be passed by the younger fighter winning,Canelo learned more from that loss than from any win in his career.
