Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Refused To Quit: My Brother Wanted To Stop It

IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence came very close to stopping Mikey Garcia, a four division world champion, on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Spence had to go the distance to defend his title for the third time. Still, the outcome was never in doubt for one of the world's best pound-for-pound boxers.

I just hope he doesn't have any long term damage from that sustained beating.
I suppose he can tell his grand kids he was never stopped.

This fight should have never happened. Mikey was never going to beat Spence and Spence was never going to get credit for beating a smaller guy. It's just like as if Spence fought a 4p year old Pacquiao, no credit. Now if Spnece went over to ESPN to fight Crawford, that would put him in the top 5 P4P!

If you don't throw back, you ain't gonna win. He had a good finish to the 4th round and I thought "he's finally going to have a go" but it never happened. He fought like it didn't really matter and he didn't look at all good with the extra poundage. I believed he'd see out the fight, even steal a few rounds, but overall it was an experiment gone wrong.

After Baranchyk gets smashed off Taylor on the 18th May he'll get shunted down the pecking order.

Had the balls to step up and fight Spence while Porter and others duck.

It looks really bad on the other welters not named Crawford. Porter, Thurman, and Danny basically have a round robin tournament amongst themselves.
