I can only hope this fight elevates Spence and allows him to carry the sport like Mayweather before him.

Maybe next time he fights atCowboy stadium against say Crawford, the stadium will be filled with his supporters.
The detractors are out in full force. I agree. Spence deserves credit for beating a good boxer in easy fashion. He demonstrated skill and smarts. There is more to him than just raw power. I think the fight will make him a big draw, but it is doubtful that he "will carry the sport." But then neither did Mayweather. Boxing is much bigger than any one fighter. Boxing is a niche sport in this country, but it is a popular national sport in many Latin American, Asia and European countries. It will grow even more as people in these countries have more access to the internet.

Yup. I lost all respect for Garcia, not even making this competitive after «*seeing something*» in Spence’s game.

        What crap.

        Make the Loma fight.

And it’s time for Spence to fight a real welter. Come on, boxing, get it together.

Nobody said he struggles, but he is a large welter boiling down. He could go to middle wieght with the Conte method.

I give him a lot of credit. Not for beating a smaller guy, but for completely dominating the smaller guy.

Had Mikey come to fight, Spence would have knocked him out. Mikey came to just survive and he did.

I do admit that Spence decided not to go for the knock out and chose to box instead. But he did get 12 rounds of serious work in without taking any punishment, which will do him good in his upcoming fights.

But you have to give him some credit for putting on a great performance.

Where was Garcia's timing, ring IQ, intelligence, and speed he talked about? Garcia looked like a slow flabby gate keeper.
