      Yes, it's nonsense.

Here are the search stats that warranted a score of 100 for Wilder and 54 for Messi.

My guess is it's US searches only, and is mainly based on the one day search maximum.

Which obviously puts fighters higher up the list because Joe public cares about them for that one day.

... I guess they have Wilder at #34 "only" in order to place Fury at #39 (the 2nd ranked boxer)!...

You are the real losers if you have to come up with nonsensical lists like this where they wont even stick to their own criteria, it screams American exceptionalist insecurity

All these lames crying about Wilders search score but if you think about Wikder was in the News Cycle and talked about for almost the entire year. not Just when he had a fight coming up like almost every other boxer. which I think why his score is so high because rarely there was a week in 2018 that Wilder wasn’t among the most talked about boxers

Jan-Mar Wilder had the Ortiz fight , it was highly anticipated, announced in the middle of Jan , The press conferences/Showtime Features/Usual Boxing Media coverage kept this fight in the forefront

The fight delivered , was a Fight if the Year candidate it was talked about for weeks after

April - July After AJ beats Parker , Everyone now focuses on a potential AJ /Wilder fight and the negotiations that place . There’s a unheard of offer to AJ of 50 million that makes not just boxing news but sporting news , Hearn continuously doing non stop press about the ongoing negotiations. Wilders name still being discussed and probably among the most searched boxers during this time

August - Dec AJ /Wilder negotiations fall apart and with in weeks , Wilder is back in the News with talk of a potential Tyson Fury fight the biggest HW fight that can be made Not involving AJ . Wilder gets in the ring after Fury’s fighr in August. Fight gets officially announced in Sept. Oct /Nov is filled with a 3 City press tour , Showtime All Access , Traditional Pre-Fight media hyping the fight.

Dec - Fight takes place on the 1st, Turns Out
To be a great fight and highly controversial and is talked about for weeks after the fight took place.

Wilder was in the forefront of the news for a boxer basically the whole year from January-December he was talked about and discussed that has to be why his score is so high. Every other Boxer on that list had long stretches sometimes lasting several months where they weren’t in the news or Talked about.
