This is pathetic. I used to think Wilder really wanted the AJ fight but not so much any longer.

Because the WBC made two catastrphic mistakes. They made Breazeale the mandatory in the first place. And they annouce a final eliminatory with Breazeale and Whyte only recently. Fighting Ortiz for a second eliminatory and for buttons is a joke when he took for the Parker fight instead for millions.

They final eliminator was originally Ortiz Whyte before Whyte pulled out the fight. In fact he pulled out of the Pulev eliminator also and their still contemplating taking action agains Hearn and Whyte. And stop it, Whyte only received 1M dollars for fighting Parker. He didn’t receive “millions”

          - wilder saw news of fury's deal, and subsequent cancellation of their fight. wilder loses it. he goes ballistic on two fronts. first because fury gets a contract before him, and second because fury makes him look like a fool.

          - Wilder then receives an offer from top rank. threatens to accept unless he gets a similar deal from fox/showtime.

          - Al haymon/shelley finkel start working on something for him, alongside getting the breazelle fight ready. Wilder says he is "network free".

          - right around this time, eddie sends and publicizes more offers to wilder and finkel, putting pressure and backing them further into the corner.

          - finkel gets on a podcast claiming he's not speaking to eddie anymore because of a weird case of phone tag.

          - Eddie sends an offer to wilder, finkel and haymon to meet directly with john skipper to discuss a new deal. finkel and haymon never show up to the meeting.

          - lou dibella is probably tired of all this and somehow, convinces wilder hear what skipper has to say. he likes it, and then demands that haymon/finkel meet with skipper. hearn is "removed" from talks.

          - around this time, pbc finalizes a deal for wilder and the breazelle fight, announce it on ppv. the whole world is stunned. now they have no choice but to go hear Dazn out, which they do. the face-saving continues.

          - wilder says it's "not goodbye" to showtime, and heads to the dazn meeting. hearns not there, so no excuses. they leave with the offer, but know they won't take it. wilder is suckered into accepting a lesser deal with someone else. they probably told him that he could fight 5 fights and not lose the wbc belt and earn more than 100 mil because pbc will pick the opponents.. they probably told him that if he goes to dazn, they won't let him fight joshua to earn that 100mil. of course he believes them.

          - within 24 hours, pbc announce a presser for next tuesday. this had to be done quickly before wilder got cold feet. word gets out that they turn down the deal. of course, AJ is blamed.
Spot on i reckon. Wilder seems very gullible, Finkel, Haymon tell him things, forecast things and Wilder just seems to hear best case scenario and nothing else. According to him the Fury fight was going to net him $100 million and will sell a quarter of a million PPV's. Because thats what Finkel and Haymon told him could possibly maybe happen. They will be telling him he is a PPV superstar now and accepting that money limits them where they could sell more and earn more. And the same old you cant trust Hearn and Joshua dont want it you will get stiffed on DAZN.

At the end of the day Haymon and Finkel will only risk Wilder against the big names and the big risks if its under the control of a PBC event. No ESPN, No DAZN its their way or the highway and as we see on a regular basis their way is ready to cheat if needs must.

As for Anthony Joshua, Finkel, Haymon and possibly Wilder really just dont want that one at all, they are staying well clear of Joshua, they makes offers then refuse to send contracts, they cancel meetings, dont show for meetings, wont answer emails or phone calls, and claim Joshua's promoter is so toxic they cant go near him, worst excuse ever by the way, they have in general made themselves so hard to try deal with all in the pretense they do want the fight and its Hearn and AJ that dont. It isnt working. And now they turn down what is a brilliant deal for all involved where everybody gets what they want and Wilder, Finkel and Haymon have turned the offer down.

so we're just supposed to ignore that the WBC in all their wisdom ordered whyte vs breazelle, then cancelled it shortly after, just to protect wilder? and so we're supposed to believe that this same incompetent wbc would somehow honor their word with that whyte ortiz eliminator?

never mind the fact that that fight was for "second mandatory" which means trash. he's the silver belt holder.

Pay attention son. Breazeale-Wilder was orders because Fury ducked the rematch smh. If Whyte has beaten Ortiz last November he would be facing wilder. Instead he’s trying to cherrypick his way to a belt. He beat an inactive Lucas Browne and really thought he was going to get a shot at the world championship lol

and that's a lie. breazelle has been the mandatory for two years. wilder himself said he was freezing out whyte till 2020. the whyte-ortiz fight would have been for second mandatory.
