Wilder to DAZN a Done Deal?

Has he got a similar deal to GGG? If he was going to be on Showtime he wouldn't be fighting under BombZquad Promotions?

World Boxing News saying he's been offered $50m 2 fight deal, although I can't believe that doesn't include the first fight with Joshua.

World Boxing News has learned DAZN have put a massive $50m deal on the table for Deontay Wilder in a two-fight offering.

Talks between both parties were set for this week, with DAZN hell-bent on securing the services of the WBC heavyweight champion.

The end-game will be a huge undisputed unification with Anthony Joshua over two fights in 2020.

On the back of Eddie Hearn confirming DAZN will act as middle men in a huge top division collision, WBN now understands Wilder is wanted this year for two bouts initially.

Wilder will effectively receive $25m per fight, and on the condition ‘The Bronze Bomber’ wins both outings, will then be pitched in with Joshua next year.

A further improved contract is to be fully discussed separately regarding the Joshua double.

DAZN want to avoid a delay in getting Wilder on the books. This is in order to assure fans the biggest battle in world boxing will eventually happen.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Tuesday evening, Hearn explained his role will be minimal. He and Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel just don’t see eye-to-eye.

“There’s an opportunity for someone to be if you like, a mediator to try and get it done,” said Hearn.

“Clearly the relationship between Team Wilder and Team Joshua isn’t the best. I think this is a route that is going to be very beneficial to making that undisputed fight.

“I think any input from me would be a negative one. In terms of trying to move things forward because of the relationship. So I’ll leave it in the hands of the broadcasters (DAZN) to try and effectively be a mediator.

    CLOSER
“It’s not just about doing a deal with Wilder, it’s about doing a deal with Joshua, for the fight.

“They’ve got their work cut out. But the pieces are coming together. There’s a long way to go, a long way to go.

“We’ll see where it goes. But there is now a strategy in place and a route in place that could lead us to an undisputed fight,” he added.

Opponents for Wilder’s two-fight agreement will include Dominic Breazeale (dependent on an agreement with Al Haymon), Dillian Whyte, Wladimir Klitschko and Oleksandr Usyk.

Well, if he's getting offered 25M to fight Breazeale on DAZN, he better be going there. That's insane money right there that you can't pass up. ESPN's offer of 12.5M was great, and dude is going to end up getting double that on DAZN. Well played sir, well played.

That two fight $50mil deal doesn't include the two Joshua fights per the World Boxing News source; In 2019. It's for his mandatory defense against Dominic Breazeale and a second voluntary defense for either a Dillian Whyte, Oleksandr Usyk or Wladimir Klitschko bout.

The Joshua negotiations won't commence until 2020. It's what both sides had originally wanted; First Joshua and now Wilder.

I know but I just can't believe they're offering 2 fights for $50m without Joshua. My guess is Joshua is the second fight and then they'll negotiate the terms of the Joshua rematch later. $15-20m for Breazeale and $30-35m for Joshua seems about right to me.

Win/Win/Win for all involved if the rumors are true about the Deal. Also avoid getting himself into any long term Promotional Deal on top of getting A LOT of money for just 2 Fights. Only 2 Fights so after that he can go back to PBC/Showtime/Fox or whatever or Renew with DAZN

Only negative is putting the AJ fight off until 2020? I see no point to that honestly unless they're stalling for the Venue. Las Vegas Stadium is suppose to be Ready August 2020 that would be an INCREDIBLE place to put this fight maybe September 2020

There’s No way the dazn deal gets/got done before Tuesday the 19th. They wouldn’t be announcing a presser 1 day after hearing a dazn pitch even if they are going to sign with them. Well, unless they are really dumb.
Showtime and fox probably decided to pool money for the breazelle fight.

So that means they are either not signing with dazn, or stalling negotiations till “after the fight” like they always do.
