If Kov fights with the same discipline as he did in his last fight , behind the left jab, Yarde is toast!!

I have never seen Yarde in with any quality opponent to get a good read on him.
Not sure how ready he is for such a step up.

A Yarde fight or a unification with Bivol or Beterbiev, either of those three are fights I want see Kovalev in.

Hats off if he actually takes it. I doubt it but Kovalev is on the downhill and probably the most beatable champion. If they wait someone else is gonna beat Kova and it is gonna be way harder to grab a belt.

It’s a mandatory so they can’t assign anyone w a belt as his mandatory.

Yards is too 10 in the division.

Kovalev has probably fought and beat the majority of non champs ranked ahead of Yarde at 175. This mandatory assignment makes sense to me. Hopefully Kov is able to unify instead, but if he can’t secure a unification then I think this fight is the next best as far as entertainment.

60/40 fight in favour of this version of Kovalev but I wont rule yarde out.

It's a typical B.S mandatory. Someone who has fought or beaten no one. Look at the WBO lightheavy rankings. Mike Lee is at 4? This is the main problem with boxing. Sanctioning bodies installing stiffs in the top 10. The more things change, the more they stay the same!
