Honestly I would have too. But considering everything, with a big money/legacy Canelo fight at risk in September, the smart move was to take on Vanes as a late replacement and keep the Cinco de Mayo date. No way Dervy and his team would have negotiated everything to keep that date on short notice.

And again if GGG smashed Dervy then people would just say 'he ******, GGG really didn't want to face (insert name here)'.

The good news is that if GGG has 6 fights with DAZN then everyone will get their wish - he will probably have at least 4 of those fights with Canelo, Jacobs and Andrade. How could anyone hate on that

I agree with your sentiment (although the second fight was close enough that I would say they are close to equal).

The issue is the criteria for measuring greatness used by many. For many in the boxing community, greatness is not a measure of skill and ability displayed; rather it is how difficult the challenge you face. And since the greatest challenge one can face (too many fans) is moving up in weight then thats the criteria that gets bandied about the most. Personally, I'd rather see a fighter stay at whatever weight they feel they are best at than move into a position where they are not at their best just to say they jumped weight. But I guess its up to each to decide their own criteria.

you brought Canelo into the debate, not me. You love him, you'd stab your own mom if she said something about him and would take a bullet to the head for him. Meanwhile, he'd step around you if you were bleeding out on the floor so that he wouldn't get your blood in his Loafers. Lol

At mw, charlo doesn't have a belt, Saunders doesn't have a belt, ggg himself doesn't have a belt, after may, either Canelo or Jacob's likely won't have a title. So in many instances, it's safe to say that some of the best fighters in a division don't have a belt. Especially if they got their belt vs a low level opponent or by a controversial decision. Looks like you're reaching to try to find something to criticize when the actual title of the article is he wants to fight the best in his division.
Nelo is proven unlike Pvssy G & you left out the fact that Boo Boo who has a title.

If May couldn't secure honest judges, GGG can never do it
Politics got him the win over Jacobs & a draw vs Nelo which he lost. He went from lil g to Triple L to now Pvssy G....LMMFAO!
