For example I am not really a Floyd fan but if he can get big money every fight, God bless him. Did you heavily criticize him fighting Berto instead of Spence btw?
I don't think that Dervy fight would have happened on May 5th so it would have thrown a wrench in GGG's plans. And at 36 he didn't really have time to mess around. He made the right move - fight Vanes, then Canelo in September. If he fought Dervy it wouldn't have been in May and the 2nd Canelo fight and $30 million or so he got wouldn't have happened.
And I can guarantee if GGG smashed Dervy then people would just say - well he ******, GGG really didn't want (insert name here).
