Got 2 fights against the biggest name, then landed a multimillion dollar contract. Didnt get him in a bad place at all. In fact, hes where most would like to be at his age.

If he beat any of those guys, none of the people who hate on him would give him any real credit anyway. He has a lot of great dominant KO wins in his career but those same people conveniently overlook those. The other guys at MW are good, but none have done really close to enough to consider those 'legacy' fights.

You sound like you are just ready for any reason to try and hate on GGG man lol. If Canelo is next in September, do you really think DAZN is going to set up a killer fight for GGG in June? I mean come on man, think, it's just common sense.

both those fighters abel sanchez/ggg stans tried to say ggg wouldn't even get credit for fighting,yet just as people like me(supposed haters)said then,hes not only gotten credit but those are the only fights he gets credit for from most,he gets the most credit for being competitive vs canelo which shows that that excuse hes ALWAYS used is complete grade A BS.

Both those wins actually prove that if ggg hadn't refused to make concessions to fight anyone good he would be far more respected. but he played it safe hoping to gaurantee the most money vs a smallish ginger.

So would you encourage your favorite fighter to take on a worse fighter, Dervy, for peanuts, rather than facing the cash cow for a career high payday, and a rematch after a controversial draw?

I don't care what these fighters make. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a man making his money to take care of his family. But my top priority as a fan of boxing is to see the best fights. The paydays and politics are none of my concern.

I would rather see my favorite fighter take on a legit mandatory challenger in a fight where the outcome is anyone's guess. Not fight a bum to preserve a matchup against a fighter who Robs his opponents regularly for a living. Where's the fun in that?.. just my opinion.

If Canelo is next in September, can you really advocate for GGG to fight Andrade in June? Makes no sense business wise, for GGG but especially for DAZN.

It's not a real 6 fight deal even GGG knows it. He was asked point blank will he fight 6 times and he said I don't know I have to see how I feel when I go back to the gym (also admitted what Sanchez said which is that this entire time he's been exiled after the beating he took from Canelo he hasn't been in a gym.) This is a 2-3 fight deal with the additional 2 years of his contract being all about him being a promoter and wanting dates for his promotional company he is trying to start.

It's also interesting that when he signed they refused to disclosure the financial terms. Many thought they didn't want to tell anyone last week because they were waiting for the press conference and would tell the world then. Nope DAZN or GGG refuses to disclose how much he signed for despite constant questions from the media. Yet DAZN had no problems telling the world Canelo signed for 365M or telling the world how much the Hearn/DAZN deal was. This is clearly being hidden because GGG wants it hidden and because those back end fight dates are phony and likely have no guaranteed money with it. Mike Coppinger first reported he was set to sign a 2-3 fight deal with 10M guaranteed for the first fight and more money depending if he fights Canelo. Likely a rematch clause after that or if he loses a farewell fight. The dates he was given as a promoter are in 2020 and 2021 and both sides are lying pretending he will be fighting in those years when they know he isn't. This is a cash out short term deal to fight Canelo AND only Canelo in Sept while setting up his transition to full time promoter by 2020.

That's the way I see it. I see 2 fights max. A can and Alvarez.

People give no real credit for Martin Murray, who had just basically beaten Sergio Martinez in Argentina. No credit for KOs of Lemieux, Stevens, Ouma, Brook, Monroe, Vanes, Proksa, Geale, Adama, Macklin, Ishida, etc.

I just think it's bizarre that one criticism of GGG is basically 'He needs to fight as tough fights as possible for 0 money'. I think people are just pissed that he actually got the Canelo fight(s) and has gotten paid so well.

Also - 3 of his last 4 fights have been against Canelo and Jacobs. With the 4th fight being a last minute replacement against Vanes, when he didn't want to lose the Cinco de Mayo date he had been training for, with the Canelo fight a few months away in September.

Btw - Did you hate on Andre Ward taking on 3 tune ups before Kovalev?

Canelo didn't wait a yr to fight fielding like ggg did with his next can. See the difference? this isn't about whether I criticized the fielding fight or not(I said if canelo didn't face Someone good next may then it means hes straight up ducking)


The point is that as i've told you many times your biased as can be. Canelo is 28 & didn't choose to age himself an extra yr at age 36 like ggg did,he went up to 168 & took a strap from a complete cherry but it was 3 mos after 2 ggg fights in a row,ggg has been hiding out healing his wounds & now thinks hes gonna get a cherry & then another payday.

If Canelo kos him you'll just say he was old,if he faces Andrade instead you'll say he ducked ggg.

so basically you're assuming that gggs next fight will be VS a can because he said he wants to fight the best in the division despite titles. OK, not sure what he should've said but let's say he does fight a can next. You said canelo fought fielding because it was a quick turn around but ignore the fact that Canelo did that after a full year lay off.... Due to peds, but it was still a full yr layoff. Both Canelo and ggg fought twice in 2018. Once against a can and once against each other. Now ggg lost his last fight, don't most fighters usually take a lighter touch after a loss? Isn't that what Canelo did when he lost? Isn't that what Jacob's did when he lost? But you're being hypocritical in your complaint. I hope he doesn't fight a can but you making excuses for Canelo and coming on here as if you made some grand discovery about ggg is ******.

you give up because you've lost. You're literally criticizing him saying that he'd fight someone regardless of belts because he wants the best fighters in the division. I just proved to you that some of the best fighters at mw either don't, or won't have a belt by the time ggg fights. Now if you're reading into his comments as something else, then that's just you being jaded as a boxing fan. Which i can't blame you for. A lot of times boxers say things but do something else. Like when Canelo said he'd never drop his belt and would face the best, then spent nearly 2 yrs fighting khan, Smith and Chavez Jr...and dropped his belt in the process. So who knows. Maybe ggg is full of s*** like Canelo was.
