That’s true, but there’s a point. Op feels that guys who effectively moved up against bigger opponents had something in the toolbox that helped negate the size disadvantage, which I guess he’s saying he doesn’t see in mikey. It’s just his observation/opinion anyway.

Mikey is a very well rounded fighter who does everything well, but nothing really sticks out above all...possibly his control of distance, his timing and accuracy. He’s not overly fast, he’s not a huge puncher, he’s not overly athletic/explosive, he hasn’t really had to show that he has that dog in him. Questions will be answered vs Spence.

And the height, reach too, Mikey will have to beat a longer stronger guy.

Easter was long but he can't fight tall and his skinny a.sd always get bullied around at 135.

But I get what TR is saying, had Mikey in spite of his skills some Pacquiao type of freakish quickness or hearns power I would give a fair shot.

Unfortunately it does not have nothing crazy in his physical tools to rely on, except complete skills.

I think the experience of boxing bigger guys in from of millions is what he is currently missing. I think this is why most are going against him. Ring IQ-wise i think its a winnable fight for him.

Mikey's been working with Victor Conte for I believe the last 3 months. A guy who has never worked at putting on muscle can make fast gains in those first 3 months of weight training and I'm curious to see what he looks like but can't find any pics. If anyone has seen recent pics please post them here.

Mikey is not exceptional in any of these categories!!!! I am a boxing fan and I don't see what his strategy could possibly be, challenging Spence, imo, will be an epic fail for Mikey Garcia!

              Hope he gets paid well.
I think Spence is the better fighter period. If there was a lightweight Spence I think he would beat the lightweight Mikey and Spence will easily KO the bulked up welterweight Mikey. Mikey lost a few rounds to Broner and never really hurt Broner much or knocked him down at 140 pounds. If you can't win every round against Broner you can't beat Spence on points. If Mikey can't knockout any of his last few opponents he can't hurt the iron jawed Spence who walked through big hard punching welterweight Brook's punches.

Spence getting over-hyped again, Garcia doesnt have to be an ATG to beat Spence

Power, quick feet, and the ability to slip a punch. See his fight with Lipinets for why he is going to get battered on Saturday by a better version of Lipinets(pressure fighter).

If you think you need to be exceptionally better than your opponent at one thing to beat them, you really DKSAB. If you think you need to be exceptional at one thing to be elite you really DKSAB. What's with all the idiots coming out of the wood works lately?
A casual, really bro? You angry that I don't see Mikey having any of the intangibles to take on Spence? You do know Spence is not Adrian Broner, is not Robert Easter, is not Sergei f-kng Lipinets! I'm a Garcia fan, I love his pure boxing skills but what does he have other than his basic skills to neutralize the many disadvantages he has in this fight?
