          Carlos Molina!

His technique was headbutt, knee, grab, hold, and hit his opponent behind the head.

First of all, Green K what a great idea for a thread. After this makes the rounds here I hope they move it to history where some guys can give perspective over in that section as well.

              Im thinking!

Generally speaking even the guys who have horrible technique develop A technique.... The patron saint for boxers who get it done the ugly way is Hank Armstrong who was a fantastic fighter who had to develop a style highlighting short arms, squat body and two left feet! Kidding about the left feet, but there are some to this day who put Hank right up there with Sugar...who was the Apollonian chiseled boxer that all boxers look to as the archetype... "Sugar could hit you going backwards, sideways!!"

Sugar looked like a dancer and all the ladies swooned! And of course we have fighters that come out of that mold, guys like Michael Nunn, who looked so smooth... etc, guys like Toney who could counter punch like sugar. Thing a lot of the greats could do some things like Sugar and Sugar could do them all! lol. But what of Armstrong's line? the crazy dionasyian wine drinking, berzerker style? Well we have guys like marciano who found a way to win! and so we are left with the question you pose...who are some of the ugliest!

Daniel Ponce de León comes to mind... The guy straight up seems to relish keeping his elbows up and throwing punches the most inefficient way possible... He doesn't have footwork so much as just sort of crawls around the ring favoring the book of averages that say he will eventually meet the opponent one of these days.

Mundine also seems to be a plodder... How about Margarito? Heavy hands he has... he punches like one of the kids I grew up with "Roger" a tall lanky kid, the fist is held in front, and pushed out like a chain punch... eventually margarito's legs catch up as he throws the blows which come perpendicular to the elbow at all times... straight punch? ha!! Margaritos victims are rumored to say that the last thing they saw before hitting the canvas was an elbow!

history had its share of guys as well! We have Gene Fullmer who was so lumpy that his lumps had lumps. His technique was to get in and sort of overwhelm his opponent, the only thing missing being the punches.

              These are a few!
