I think Porter has seriously poor footwork. I would have never trusted just the tip of my boot to plant on the canvas. He did and it slipped; if the ref had called it a knockdown it'd be incorrect but would be entirely understandable to miss a call like that. But he didn't, it wasn't a knockdown and if someone is relying on a judgement call like that to win a championship fight because their work rate wasn't high well...I have no sympathy.
I’m not bothered by it, man. It was a very close fight. I’m just trying to be clear on the rule. The way I (and “Boom Boom”) saw it, Ugas landed a punch and Porter went down. That’s a KD, as I understand it. Is it cheap? Well, rules are rules. Are we gonna live by them? Was the mat wet? I don’t doubt it. But I’m not sure that changes a KD call. And, like I said, if that’s what happened, why didn’t the ref ask for the canvass to be wiped down? You see that all the time. Some guys are saying it was a boring fight. I thought it was okay, and competitive enough to merit a rematch.

https://********/-k7NCtz4Jwc?t=17 and watch Porter's back foot.

Porter's back toe slips and that causes the fall. It's actually quite clear at that speed. At full speed it's an outstanding call by the ref and many would have gotten it wrong.
His foot clearly DID NOT Slip. He picked his foot up and was trying to step back out of the way AS he also got hit. Youre video makes it a clear knockdown, albeit Porter himself caused it by taking that LOONG step back. It was too long a step.

But even without a KD I though Ugas won.

That’s why don’t force the 10-9. If it looks too close to call then score it 10-10.

Great point, but judges are instructed not to score even rounds; they have to pick a winner. When is the last time a judge scored a round even?

I didn’t really score it. It looked like a close fight to me. No one really dominated the other.

But it did appear like Porter was pushing the action more and Ugas was waiting a lot.

I thought you’re generally supposed to be discouraged from scoring 10-10. I try not to.
