Golovkin will never really be 168. Not saying he couldn’t fight there but he’d be a 160 fighter fighting 168 fighters. I think it’s a little late in the game for Lara to be moving up also.

Both Golovkin and Lara have plenty of work to do in their respective divisions and to stay relevant, they need to do that work.

Golovkin would always be a bad matchup for Lara as Lara has trouble with guys who use intelligent pressure.

Lara would’ve won a couple years ago when he was calling out ggg and they acted like he was the plague!

Now, his age is finally catching up to him and not to mention he’s coming from 2 tough fights that takes years off him!

It’s interesting, ggg can’t cut off the ring as well as we all thought and he’s older and one dimensional while Lara is more flat footed currently and throws even less punches than he used to!

You cant duck a fighter who is not rated in the division you are in and never fought in the division you are in. Look up Lara's division.

Lara is still good enough to box your face off 154/160 if you give him any kind of space to punch, and Golovkin can't really fight off of your chest.

It's pretty clear why Golovkin openly ducked certain fights

GGG by slaughter just as he would have slaughtered Lara at any time.Lara had a draw with Molina and lost to Williams and fought a draw with Vanes and these are all guys GGG would murder and he did murder Vanes. You can't go by the Canelo fights with both men because Canelo fought Lara years before he fought GGG and the Canelo who fought GGG was a much better fighter than the Canelo who fought GGG. Lara just lost to Hurd and drew with a new comer. All those loses and draws on Lara's record at jr middleweight compared with a middleweight with 20 successful title defenses and a ko streak of 23 straight KOs? Jaclobs would beat the hell out of Lara and GGG beat Jacobs. How is Lara suppose to win? Wih his jab? GGG has a better jab. With his straight left that is just a love tap compared to any GGG power punch. GGG has never been down or hurt much in any fight. Lara was down twice and had to come from behind to beat slow crude Angulo. This fight is no contest. A mismatch.

What 160 pound boxer did Lara ever outbox? None, because he never fought one. How did GGG openly duck Lara when Lara never earned a title shot at 160 and never was a big money fight either. Lara had to come from way behind on points and being knocked down twice to get a lucky eye injury tko win over slow plodding 154 pound Angulo who Canelo slaughtered and Kirkland knocked out. Lara would not have a chance in hell of beating GGG or even lasting the distance.
