I am really interested to see what happens in the Jacobs Canelo fight. Canelo's combo of speed, skill and punch resistance just makes him a tough matchup for anyone at or around MW right now. I think he looks so energized after those GGG fights, he looks like he is on a mission to make his legacy.

Where would they do it in Mexico? I just realized Azteca is way above sea level so that would mess with the boxers' stamina and breathing so I am guessing they wouldn't do it there unfortunately. Having a big bout there would honestly be bad ass though.
If Canelo does fight in Mexico it'll definitely happen in Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Yes it's above Sea level but it's the biggest stadium in Mexico and can hold over 100,000 fans. Canelo would just have to have his whole training camp there to get used to the thin air... David always has a puncher's chance no matter who he fights..
I agree that Canelo has looked amazing in his last two fights but Jacobs brings something different to the table... It'll be a great fight but I'm going with Canelo all the way!

Wow! Canelo did it, butits OK Canelo is superior and we can’t expect the same from an inferior athlete
I have nothing to add. Agree with everything you wrote.

I'd like to see him face Andrade. I think whoever he faces it will say what his confidence level is. A low tier guy - he is just waiting for the Canelo 3 pay day. And that would be unfortunate. I hope he still has a few good/great fights left and then retires healthy. He and his team have definitely taken a while to sort everything out though so it's hard to say what he is thinking.
I have nothing to add. All your speculation is spot-on. Abel Sanchez used to preach and praise Gennady - SPECIFICALLY - for his activity and how he was "belt chasing". Now they've completely changed their stance...and we still haven't seen Gennady emerge from last September's loss.

It's been 6 months now and not a word from...

Canelo should unify with Demetrius Andrade

Canelo vs David Lemiux in Mexico City would be cool. It would make for an interesting promotion on many levels, including the fact that Lemiux speaks Spanish. I think the Mexican fans and the media would appreciate that.

Damn you serious??? I didn't know Lemiux spoke Spanish.... I can definitely see the Mexican people warming up to David then, especially the ones who really follow boxing and are familiar with David Lemiux's fighting style.... He'll have some fan's in Mexico for sure then..

I don't think it will be GGG for a third fight in 2019! If anything, I could see the 3rd fight being Jaime Munguia!

              Boxing News 24
              Dan Ambrose
              March 3, 2019:

Saul Canelo Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) surprised a lot of boxing fans recently when he said he has no interest in fighting other Mexican fighters during his career. This might have come to a shock to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya, who is interested in matching Canelo against WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia (32-0, 26 KOs) in the near future after the unbeaten 154 lb champion moves up in weight in a year or two.

De La Hoya promotes both fighters, and they can make good money in an eventual fight against each other. For Canelo, 28, to close off all possibilities of a fight with the young 22-year-old Munguia, he would be throwing away a lot of money. That’s money that not only Canelo wouldn’t be getting, but also Munguia, DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions. As long as Munguia keeps winning and looking good in his fights before then, there would be a great deal of money to be made in a Canelo-Munguia fight.

That fight [Canelo vs. Munguia] is very possible. The fact that Munguía is young, he is growing, learning, he is champion of 154 pounds, he is loved by many, he has millions of fans in Mexico, he has a great style, a warrior, a fighter, and that’s a natural fight,” De la Hoya said to ESPN’s Los Golpes.

A fight in Mexico is definitely a money maker. Lemieux is an interesting guy. He speaks 5 different languages: French, English, Armenian, Spanish and Arabic.
