Yeah he probably should retire. If hammer ****s up your face it's a bad sign. The guy is old as bricks man. I have nothing against him, but he is nothing special (not anymore at least)

Because I don’t agree that Ortiz dominated Hammer doesn’t mean I still would not favor him over fighters like Whyte and Miller.
Fighter like these two have clearly ducked/avoided Ortiz. What is bizarre is how fans know this yet use for an excuse that Ortiz hasn’t fought anyone

I've always thought Povetkin was a little better than Ortiz. Ortiz vs Whyte is a 50-50 fight. They should try to make that fight next. They both need opponents.

Hammers not a great fighter he would lose to most top prospects. Povetkin fought a Hammer unwilling to throw punches and he gave Joshua a tough fight .Ortiz has one decent win years ago , so nobody is saying anything that's not true. Ortiz was hit and bloodied from nose and mouth , he's clearly overrated in power and slipping in skills as he was prior to Wilder and his fights show that.

Wilder struggled vs a nohoper, imagine GGG went the distance vs Dominic Wade or Macklin. Ortiz is just not as great as the Wilder fangirl club wishes he was and he is old, very old.

Now you've got people saying Whyte will beat him, even though Whyte was the same dude that got rocked by Helenius, and had a razor thin fight with Chisora whom Malik Scott was outboxing.

Even at this age, after a brutal beating by Wilder, Ortiz is still a top 5 HW in this division. People acting like Hammer was dropping him like Price did Pedvetkin, rocking him like Helenius did Whyte, there was no point of the fight where he was even close to being hurt.
It sure seems like you are making Ortiz seem better than he was to make Wilder seem better than he is. Wilder did get the KO over Ortiz but did not give Ortiz a brutal beating. It was the other way around and Ortiz gave Wilder a beating and almost finished him and there was that strange delay right after the round Ortiz landed so many punches on Wilder and had him in so much trouble. Hammer is very fat and slow and not very good. If Ortiz is that good he should have knocked Hammer out. Three other guys KOed Hammer and none of them were big punchers. Hammer said after the fight that he had fought better fighters than Ortiz. Ortiz won easily but he didn't look that good winning. Ortiz is almost forty and it showed. He probably lost the last couple of rounds to a mediocre fighter. I think Ortiz is more like a number 10 heavyweight than a number 5 heavyweight and at his age he will get worse not better. I would pick the bigger faster younger Whyte to beat Ortiz.

I’m an Ortiz fan but I’d pick Whyte to beat him.

Last night showed me that age is a factor, and Ortiz hasn’t shown that he could keep up to a high punch output pace Whyte can set.

                      Good fight though, should happen.
