    WBC heavyweight mandatory position

It's my understanding that Whyte v Breazeale was ordered for the WBC Interim title.

Does this mean the winner would have become mandatory?

Whyte is claiming he will sue the WBC if they claim Wilder is making a mandatory defence against Breazeale as he and Breazeale have already been ordered to fight for that mandatory spot and he is not pulling out.

He's claiming that a Wilder defence against Breazeale can only be a voluntary because of what the WBC ordered and he will be the new mandatory.

Fury really screwed things up for Wilder if that's the case

Good he should dig his heels in. The fact he’s not mandatory already is ridiculous.

Honestly Whyte and Hearn should have understood the situation more since they are involved in business of boxing. Anyway Whyte is just talking himself up. The Fury fight was was a voluntary defense not a Mandatory. The rematch was mandated but it fell through so Breazeales position is still the mandatory. People are saying Breazeales not mandatory but he officially won that position against Molina , it was Wilder who has been stringing him along and he should have fought Breazeale already before Fury he had months and months to do that . When Breazeale defeated Molina , Whyte was ranked 3rd not 1.

Link to where Whyte says that?

Breazeale is getting the next shot, he was due the next shot and WBC only ordered him to face Whyte because they expected Wilder to be unavailable. Now Wilder is available to meet his mandatory, Breazy is still ahead of Whyte in the pecking order.

Wilder should fight Breazele and Whyte on the same night, get things over with faster.

In an iFL interview last night.

I'm not sure how true it is but we know Whyte v Breazeale was ordered with purse bids set for March 19th and everything.

If that fight was ordered for interim/mandatory then surely if Breazeale pulls out he loses that mandatory slot?

It doesn't matter if Breazeale pulls out for Wilder or not, the argument is that it can't be called a mandatory fight?

Here's an example of when a mandated fight falls through.

Breazeale was originally supposed to fight Stiverne who was the original Mandatory for Wilder . That fight was skipped over when Ortiz failed a Ped test and they put the still mandatory Stiverne back in place and he did end up fighting Wilder.

Breazeales in that same position now . A fight is called off but he still holds that position. If The WBC does not make the Breazeale fight they are clearly making up there own rules.
