Lara is delusional. He was very competitive no doubt but he lost clearly. Just cause a fight is competitive doesn't mean there wasn't a clear victor.

I felt Hurd won w/o the KD & shared the same sentiments as him that he expressed in the post fight interview. Maybe I could see where he's coming from had Lara not been KD. I wouldn't necessarily agree but I see the argument. But that KD sealed the fight undebatably for Hurd. It's ashame Hurd would've lost w/o the KD.

But after the fight I remember saying if they fight again it's only gonna be worse for Lara. He's getting up there in age & he took a lot of punishment. Lara almost didn’t even look like he wanted to continue after the KD smh....

Seriously, this fight should serve as a gauge on Lara's career. If he displays any signs of decline, slippage or diminished skills then he should really consider hanging it up and retire soon before he gets hurt. He is not getting any younger. He turns 36 in April.

Could never admit and take an L like a man , Hurd won and gave him a beating , yea the roadrunner hung in there but took the worst of it. Talk about gifts he got one against Carlos Molina should of been an L instead of a draw.

Lara was ****** for going toe to toe with Hurd. Lara is one of the best pure boxers in the sport, that's his biggest advantage and he didn't even use it in the Hurd fight. And even though he outboxed Canelo he lost the decision because he ran too much. Then he lost the Hurd fight simply because he tried to go toe to toe instead of outboxing him. He could've won both fights simply by using a better game plan. He has no one to blame but himself, and his team.

All I know is those body shots zapped the backpedaling out of Lara. He was forced to stand and fight. Because he has a great amateur pedigree he was able to survive but Hurd was breaking him down round by round. It accumulated into a late knock down. I guarantee in a rematch Hurd would pick up right where he left off. Lara would remember really quick how hard of a fight it was for him.
