Then Lopez can fight Pedraza next before the year end potential title shot. And Loma early 2002.
Why would he face Pedraza? If he got to fight for the vacant WBC strap, it would be against Luke Campbell.

If he gets the vacant shot? Definitely, it would be against Campbell.

But there have been rumors of Lopez/Pedraza facing off sometime in 2019.

Tatli is also ranked high in the IBF so Lopez beating him could get him the mandatory shot against Commey or eventually Lomachenko if he beats him in a unification bout later this year.

you're right. I checked the WBC rankings, but I didn't check the IBF. Tatli is #3 for the IBF (with no #2 or #1) and he's also #3 in the WBO (though that would fast track him to Loma)

This fight defiantly gives him some options.

WBC #5 vs #10 so the winner will be ranked pretty high most likely. I could see Campbell vs Lopez for the vacant title.

I agree but I'm getting slightly tempted to shell out the money

Wow big step up fight! Respect to Teofimo...we can see at what level he is at now. If he struggles he probably isn't as elite as we thought

Tatli also has a win over Yvan Mendy...only real loss was a MD loss to Abril who was a champ. Haven't seen that fight. Was it a robbery ? Could be. He also beat Patera. Looks like an underrated fighter

Not a step up fight but there is a purpose. Top Rank is angling for a vacant belt. Tatli is ranked by a coupled different belt orgs. WBC is likely but there are a couple other options if that doesn't free up like the IBF. But Arum in not putting him in the ring with Loma or Mikey Garcia this is a political move to get a title fight mandated for a vacant or Commey's belt. Don't discount Arum finding a way to have Loma vacate the WBO and Lopez fighting for that vacant strap.
