Is Kovalev currently the strongest light hw champion?

Kovalev, although beaten 3 times, still seems to me like a guy who can collect the other belts as well. Apparently Buddy did talk some sense into him like he did with Gatti. He may now be able to jab his way through every champion in that division.

Gvozdyk seems to have very awkward footwork and doesn't have overly good defensive skills.

Beterbiev is absolutely one dimensional to me. No boxing skills, just pure power punching.

Bivol is a dark horse to me, I still can't make a good opinion of his chances in that weight. His work against Pascal didn't really impress me

Y'all think he still has it or is he done?

I've been a kovalev fan since his second boon fight. Was still a fan after his ko losses. He can beat artur and bivol, but gvozdyk is all wrong for him. Taller, longer, can use his legs, has a good chin, power, and fires his shots straight down the pipe. If the nail can overcome the krushers jab,he picks him apart.

Gvozdyk would handle him. Kovalev looked good vs. Alvarez but Gvozdyk is faster, can move around and get out of range and hits hard and has more in the tank these days. I would question if Kovalev can go 12 with him. I doubt he could.

I'd make Beterbiev a close fight but slightly favor Kovalev and I think Bivol would defeat him handily at this point.

Youre doing beterbiev a disservice, he was an outstanding amateur and usyk said he was his toughest ever opponent. All hes ever needed so far was a big punch but hes got skills too

Beterbiev's chin seems suspect though and he's not that hard to hit. Callum Johnson really missed an opportunity by not jumping on on him when he had Beterbiev hurt.

I always thought he was a wasted talent. Dude throws punches with bad intentions.
Shame a lot of his career has been spent doing not a lot.

Gvozdyk is ranked #1 for a reason. He's the best at the moment until proven otherwise. Can he beat Kovalev? I doubt it very seriously.

Kovalev will be hard to beat, no doubt, but I'm not confident he'll be the last man standing in the division.

He might be. I think he was the best before his recent losses. Those other champions would also have 2 losses if they fought Ward twice.

I'm not so sure of that and I don't think Ward is either.
