I've been looking forward to this fight the day it got announced. Really quality LMW bout with the winner being in line for a title shot. Lara is a old proud champion but does he have enough left to hold off Castano? Did Hurd take something out of him in the last few rounds like Jack did with Degale? Castano's performance vs Soro was very impressive a few years back but this is by far his biggest test. I can't really call this, but if I had to make a choice, I may be leaning Castano by a very tight decision.

Lara by near shutout UD. Castano will have a big reach disadvantage. I see Lara fighting at long range and schooling this guy. -
You don't think the Hurd fight took anything out of Lara? He took some heavy heavy shots late in the fight. I can't imagine this fight not being competitive. Could sell me on the winner either way, but think this one will be decided by the last few rounds.Comment

No, Lara is still elite, and Castano is too small and limited. I remember the Soro fight being very close. There's nothing special about Castano.Comment

Soro fight was competitive but still a clear win for Castano around the 8-4 mark.
If Lara is still the same fighter he was? Then he should absolutely be the favorite. But Castano is going to test his legs and will this fight. His style isn't going to let Lara just sit back and counter, he will force Lara to fight just as Hurd did. And if Hurd did indeed take something out of Lara as I suspect? Then this becomes a very tightly contested fight.Comment

I mean it is what it is. Won't do good numbers at the gate or in viewership figures, but it is a very quality fight. Wish Castano would have made his way stateside a bit earlier but he is here now and this is his chance to become a serious player at 154.
Lara may end up being in two FOTY candidates in back to back years!!! Okay that may be taking it too far, but Castano will make him fight and we should get nice fireworks.Comment
